I went to SSD plastics down the street from you guys and got a sheet of 3/16 plastic aluminum sandwich for under $100. I thought it would be good enough because I did not plan on doing any off-roading but I went and ended up going too fast on the road and found my self off-roading and I now know to go thicker. Especially with sandwiches. All the fixings please and dont skimp on the meat and cheese. Yum.WaynerParticipantMarch 8, 2021 at 7:03 pmPost count: 177
JJ you’re a stud! You set a goal and conquered it. Excited for you and these awesome adventures for your family. ❤️Dave-coParticipantMarch 8, 2021 at 10:59 pmPost count: 64
JJ 1/4 Aluminum under engine-trans 3/16 or 1/4 up front. Aluminum has been working on glass 11 nearing 5 decades. ot slides well over rocks and gives good protection. 1976 Mint 400John JonesModeratorMarch 10, 2021 at 6:04 amPost count: 7693
I pushed my pile out back by the fence.. I really don’t even want to look at it right now… 😎 I am still recovering from impact of this build.. and realizing I have to rebuild my whole damn car before Glenn Helen race….
Where do I send these fox shocks to get rebuilt and valved correctly??sidehillParticipantMarch 10, 2021 at 10:09 amPost count: 49
When you get your tight mounted skid plates perfected I’ll probably want some for my rig.
Matt Wilson has been giving me some advice on my car. He and his brother Nick, who lives here in GJ drove a Class 11 in the Baja 1000 in 2018.
He sent me this video of their run. It shows some of the rough sections of the course.Dave-coParticipantMarch 10, 2021 at 5:05 pmPost count: 64
JJ are you staying with stock shock mounts in rear or are you going longer in back with side mount. I can help you and if you want to learn them to do on your own you can order the shims and oil seal kits threw my friend Dez and I can walk you threw it or you can send them to me and I will do them for you you order the things I tell you and I will pick the stuff up and I will rebuild and revalve them for you then send them back either way we can get you working a whole lot better in the rearRustabusParticipantMarch 10, 2021 at 6:33 pmPost count: 2272

Class 11….. Haven’t posted anything about this in a month… Although, I think about it everyday. I haven’t felt soo beat down in a long time… eye opener.. I can’t believe how small the items where that took me out of the race… Ignorance I reckon.. I had soooo much good luck with my play baja, that I over estimated my ability to build a legit offroad Race Car. I was taken to the school, put in my place, but at the same time, shown the way… 😎 If you don’t learn something from a good ol ass kickin like that, your bound for another ass kickin… 😎 😎 😎
So… I need to start getting my shit together I guess… Cause I wanna do some more offroad racing!!! I want 1131 to finish the damn race, ATLEAST!
July 31st is the next Empi tripple crown race… and I would prefer my shit be fresh for that race, so not sure I wanna race before that…. but maybe… I could be talked into it…. 😎Dave-coParticipantApril 14, 2021 at 1:16 amPost count: 64

Dave!!!!! Good to see you check back in…
I heard Blake Wilkey finally got beat in class 11 last weekend !!!! I would love to know about last weekends racing!!!! I heard Adrian rolled his car!!! I would love to talk to Sletton or Project Pete about the race.. 😎
Rail is close, fun can be had in between class 11 racing now… 😎 😎 I have always loved going to the dunes.. I am excited to do it again… this time old man style with a fast toy… 😎
There is a long long piece of aluminum out back that would make a great end to end skid plate… 😎
