What u guys think. I wanted a patina Bus that showed it’s age. The nose was wrecked so it had to be stripped to get worked.  So the nose is going to be nice and straight and shiny. The rest of the bus is going to be nice and straight as a driver bus should be thanksvto pat an my euro ragtop bug trade off. Just gotta step up and figure out what to do with the paint. Fuck the OG and paint it shiny dove blue. Whatcha think guys. I need some cents

I think with all the hours you’ve put in and how much more stripping you still have to do you’re better off just DA-ing the whole thing and repaint it all… With all the blending you’d have to do as well… there just isn’t much OG Dove Blue to blend into!

If you’re worried about having a shiny bus and scratching it up off-roading and camping you don’t have to take it that far, just spot spread the low spots, DA the whole thing, poly it, and paint it! Thats all we did to Glenn’s car and it took way less time and effort than taking it to the level I am now. Guilt free shiny paint is the way to go in my opinion Jesse! ????

I remember JJ’s old ’57 kombi camper.  I think he painted it exclusively in the dirty shop with 50% gloss or something, and joked that he didn’t spread the first ounce of mud on the roof.  Knocking a little shine out of the paint hides a lot of body panel imperfections.  I’d do what Will suggested; scuff it and shoot it, but with something less than 100% gloss paint.

I think the 40% gloss is a good idea…  Like my old kombi…   Shiney wheels and bumpers….

Damn dude. Keep it OG paint. You’ll make baby Jesus cry if you paint over that beautiful patina.

Haha, we’ve been harping on Jesse to pull the plug and paint this turd for months. Now we got his head spinning. He’s got a pretzel in his head.
