Hey Jason!  Any chance you’ve got that Jeep rear bumper and tire carrier still laying around?

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I’m in the 40 club now. My friend describes it as the fine wine club

How ya feeling today? Great progress! So many details in this one!

Pat I was good, just a couple glasses of Whiskey, I am starting to learn that that is all I can do so I am not feeling like garbage.

If you are referring to the pictures in this thread  of the tire carrier, I don’t. I was using them as a reference to try and create something but I have gone with the Baywindow setup from GoWesty.

I saw your Instagram post about Jimbo, I met him many years ago when he and the orange ghia came to SLC to race at a race event. I just came across this picture yesterday of me racing him in my bay camper. This is a moment I will never forget, I can see why racing is so addictive. FB_IMG_1655600349740

Hope you have been kicking ass on your bus…. VW at the Springs is coming up!!  You ready?  Or maybe, #next year? 😎

A lot of the original racks had 1/2 tube on them…. not strong enough to walk on… 😎

Yes, I need to get this going, thanks for the reminder. Definitely want to be able  to walk on it and want it stout.

Yes working on it but now packing for a 2.5 week river trip on the Middle Fork and Main Salmon back to back. They call it turning the corner and you can only run the couple of miles between the rivers if you line these permits up like we did. Super stoked for this trip.

Springs will be #nextyear since I’m leaving on July 21st for the river. Super bummed but will definitely have a bus there finally.

Making progress on the bus, had to body work and repaint around the windows 20220704_211323

I forgot how long a tedious sound dampening can be. 20220707_120406

Needed to get the interior done and build the bench, so the interior guy can do my camper seat and cushion over the engine.

Also decided to buy the whole birch panel kit from Clara. Probably cost me the same anyway in time and messed up materials.

Painted the intake with the Black Widow gun from Harbor Freight. I’m impressed with the way it turned out but have comparison to a Sata or anything.20220704_195048

Lastly ordered the shift linkage form CSP Germany that is for adjustable beams. Hopefully it helps. 20220712_125928

Thanks on the rack, I’m stoked to get one from you guys that is legit! I didn’t know about the rod either until I started searching around, a lot of cool shit in Europe that vendors don’t supply here. Unfortunately shipping suck right now.

I know EZCAMER in Florida makes them. Or thinking a different clamp? I know he gives a little discount for multiple qty if you ask.

Back from an amazing two week river trip on the Middle Fork Salmon and Main Salmon “turning the corner”. 20220721_205731

I have known about this Barndoor bus for many years and looked for it at the ranch but they said it’s either buried on the property or sold off years ago. I believe it’s still there because they knew exactly what I was talking about and ga e me a directionon where it was possibly located. I have a contact there so maybe something could pan out, would be cool to get it and have another sweep boat bring it out. What a story that would be. Its amazing it even made it to the ranch after running this river, not an easy task at all.20220806_105748

I’m Glad to be home, I was about to pull the plug on SEMA when I got home but decided I am not able to since I have made so many commitments to companies and people. I could use a break but I gave my word and I need to keep it. Time to light a huge fire under my ass to make this happen.

This is probably my last big hurrah for the business. Going to take it back to what it always should have been, a very small side business that I do work on occasion or fix a VW up and sell it. Time to remove it from Google, I need to enjoy life with family and friends more and take this bus many places once its done.

Hey…. those would work great,,,, I should get about 40… 😎

I found another ad for that style clamp with stainless bolt for $15 from NorCal racks. Want me to order the 40 and we can square up later? I know you are not ready for racks yet but I’m trying to plan ahead and that way we have them. Need the loops or anything else? Would love to come down, bring the bus and help knock out some racks when you are ready.
