Sealing wax pink bumpers maybe?? So they blend in with the body? Hard to beat the classic look of silver-white bumpers like they came with. Are you going with blades or full overriders + towel bars?

I could make you some custom overland tube or aluminum bumpers with wheel pockets for bikes? 🙂

Franz, I plan on a bumer blade with the hust bumper in the front. Some animal protection is my thoughts and I like the look. I was thinking  black to be different and give it a rugged look.

I also plan on this exact bumper and swing arms for spare tire and other  items. The bus will need some mods and GoWesty is sponsoring this build on the bus. Gives me a hitch also.

I like the original bumpers but want something different, I do like custom  bumpers but maybe down the road.

These just came in and will.help.with the extra weight. I can’t wait to get on dirt! It will  be interesting to see if the valving is better for the bus. They also  have the LSC adjuter for pavement  vs dirt.

COOL! Fox shocks. I have a good base-line on the shim stacks from the class 11 stuff, if you feel like taking them apart.

Yeah they seem very stiff even for the heavy bus. I will try them out and see then we can dig into them if I don’t like the settings.

    Bus is looking sick!!!

All of the thought and time you’ve out into this going to make it SUPER useful and killer for your needs.

I’d guess the our shock base setting are the same. We stiffened up all of JJs for the light little oval.

    Keep up the progress!!!

We will build it if it comes.

I imagine RGB bus would need a stiff rebound on the shocks to deal with the way they lift the suspension under acceleration.

We can do a tune day in Moab or something when you get it driving….so like 2025? haha J/K

I added the LSC adjuster for stiffness wile on pavement and then soft for dirt but I dont notice much difference. I am sure it will need some adjusting.  They seem very stiff for a VW shock.

Yeah Moab will be fun but maybe I bring it down once I get the engine done so we can drive it and decide what it needs. I plan on coming down to do the roof rack, wood paneling and front which mount. Hopefully its not 2025 shit! This is taking much longer than I thought, damn custom shit. there is always #nextyear and then the #nextyearafterthat

Yeah, it only needs to look good once before it hits the dirt, then all I want is functionality. It has to be done by April 2022 at least 80-90%, that is looking very realistic.

Ok this just popped up on thesamba, I don’t know why but I love the look of these Jersey buses. This thing would be so badass to cruise around in! The desire must come from a former life or triggers something deep in my soul.

I wish I could, too rich for me unfortunately. Yes hopefully complete in April for the Ottinger gathering, hoping it is road worthy for BBB. Still shooting for a SEMA 2022 and pitching it to some vendors but if it doesn’t work out I don’t care. I will email you but I need to come to the KCW ranch for some work when it is on 4 wheels. 7 months is coming very fast and I am feeling the pressure.

Time is a ticking…. How has progress been?  BBB is in like 9-10 weeks away??

Yes it is, life and family is taking too much time away from it. I am digging back in hard this week and the next few months. Sawyer is amazing and easily distracts me from the bus. The deciding factor is going to be the engine and hopefully some break in time before the event.

I am looking at ordering the RetroSound RetroMat sound deadening you use, how many rolls do you typically use in a bus for the roof, sides, doors and nose?

I would like to come to the Ranch again in December, I will send you an email.
