Ultimate watercooled on the prev trip to D, Ford Fusion hybrid, old lady hated all the electronic wizardry…?.. no new cars in my future.

Drove some shit Toyota tiny something over last Thur to load up the fam and house. All our shit and all of us made it out and over to GJ Sunday…thought about Baja Sunday the whole drive over in the beast moving truck.

Shiny new Baja parts will go on in the next  couple weeks or so..other business at the top of the list for a bit.

We will build it if it comes.

Got the Baja all back together yesterday evening. Drove great, all nice and tight up front again.

Going to order up a set of these to help the front end survive a little longer this time.

So Pat, this is what I have. Looks  kind of like the pictures in your post ?  Got these a couple of years ago when I was thinking about making a mount to bolt a VW beam on the Tri Vator, then decided I didn’t have time to work on it.

What’s up with you guys breaking beams??!!??!?!?? Is there some huge ass boulder on the trail that you all keep taking turns trying to crawl over or push off the trail?????!!????? 🙂

Happens because we HALL ASS!!!!!

Hauling ass and lock up the breaks for a wash you don’t see coming. Compress the front suspension, u slide into it and which ever L/R hits first takes most of the abuse. Do that a few times things start to bend then one more bad hit finishes it off.

This beam was bent back on both sides. Then broke from a hard hit on the right side.

Picked up a set of beam stiffners from Alykat, thank you Sr., that will be going on this week.

Started rubbing on the front end last night. Looks like it took a digger up front at some point.  Pushed and welded up cracks on the pass side last night.
