Been a long time since I posted. Here is a new thread for my Bus. 1955 Wolfsburg Kombi, built in May of 1955. I think I’ve owned this bus for 9-10 years now. Restored the bus to use as a daily driver 6 years or so ago. Bus still looks great. I live in the Gunnison/Crested Butte area and only drive the bus in the warm months. No snow this year so been driving the bus a bunch this year. Would like to do a camper interior in the upcoming year. Hope to see you guys at KCW this summer. Moab trip looked fun. Need to start getting this bus out of town! Franz tuned the engine last summer., still drives like a dream!
Been driving this bus forever without insulation, rear panels or rear seat. Had Doug make some plastic panels, headliner and cover a rock and roll seat/bed. Insulated and put everything in the last two weeks. Simple but came out good. Thanks Doug! Planing on raising the bus back up to stock height. Been thinking about it the last couple of years. I like the bus lowered but have been limited on use with the bus. Plus I live on a dirt road.
Getting this rig lifted up. It had a 3″ narrowed/adjustable beam. We’re going to unflip the splindles and crank it up.
Wren found a nice small nut transaxle on craigslist. I hope it works.
Almost there. Spindles unflipped, and beam adjusters slotted for max lift. Its going to be rad. The narrowed beam is actually going to help with tire clearance and wheel travel.
