……edit* just read your Shasta thread….u got no time to talk to me, hit tha road and have a blast buddy! Jealous ?FranzKeymasterJanuary 28, 2018 at 9:45 amPost count: 3484
Don’t tub it.
Why you want to do all that hard work, then ruin it? Mini tubs are pointless unless you’re running 7″ wide 18″ wheels or something silly.
If you have the right narrowed beam, and regular tires(195 or less), they should tuck into the sweet spot just right.
….Keep it as high as you can go with the strait axle. Like Parker’s dove blue 21 window. The suspension arm angle needs to be strait or positive so that the wheel moves back when the suspension compresses. 😉 Key to an enjoyable bus.
When the arm angle is negative the wheel moves forward when the suspension is compressed. Amplifying every little thing in the road. They drive terrible that low. Like this “wham wham wham squeek squeek wham wham SCRAPE” And the driver is like “I’m so f’n cool” “good thing I have disc brakes” 😀 😀 🙄tlambertParticipantJanuary 28, 2018 at 10:36 pmPost count: 305
^^^^ funny shit Franz. Love it. ?JbParticipantJanuary 29, 2018 at 2:30 amPost count: 616
Ok, if u say so boss! Only reason I was thinking tubs is to kill this butthole at same time. But if I don’t need em, I’ll just use donor metal to re do stock B
We got some frame patches done tonight…good as new out back now and now it’s just the front outrigger spots left. Thought I mays well burn the 4 rear outriggers in so that killed the evening?FranzKeymasterJanuary 29, 2018 at 9:35 amPost count: 3484
Looking good Josh. Sorry for the negativity. Hoping to get you guys away from lowriders.JbParticipantJanuary 29, 2018 at 10:26 amPost count: 616
Oh fuck brother, I didn’t take that as negativity at all!!! I hold you boys opinion and insane experience in these things to the highest regard?? u gotta keep the flock from wandering too far im cool with that haha
she ain’t gonna be a knuckle dragger by any means….I promise? I’m all about functional and Chances are I’ll prob switch it up down road? Suspension swap in a weekend?
I yanked down my motor parts to start that ball in motion….82 mm crank is hosed, rest looks good! 84mm are same price and swing as jrod just pulled the pin on a 2332 build for his bus so it seems I kinda got to keep the displacement numbers consistent between the 3 Js!?
man im excited to roll this rig out to its first camp out! Spring can’t get here fast enough!Pat KKeymasterJanuary 30, 2018 at 9:57 amPost count: 1317

Dont think ive posted a pic of this Betty waiting patiently in the wings at the compound? 53 kombi with opening rear hatch owned by our good friend Patrick Hall. Barndoors are growing on trees around here!? we going to do cargo floors and some other shit so him and Rachel can drive it up to the arctic circle to visit the big fat man in a red suit in July with Greg and Clara??
the Highgradekombi hasn’t had a lot of love last few weeks but managed to sneak a shift or 2 in….all the frame repairs are done thank fuck! Finished burning in last top hat and all outriggers. Lastnight was new cable conduit time! Killed that and fit jackpoints and cows horns/heat tube. ??
so so close to installing cargo floor I can taste the grinding slag from the 200 plug welds?JbParticipantFebruary 16, 2018 at 8:36 amPost count: 616
My bad….am I the only one jacked about killer patina’d barndoors and killer progress on said kombi??????
Finished cable conduits lastnigh…..those are fun to start from scratch when some donkey didn’t take pics before chopping old out? was only 11 so I started to melt the pass side in?????68tintopParticipantFebruary 16, 2018 at 9:00 amPost count: 720

Patrick’s BD is killer, and you’re wasting no time on the kombi. What’s left now that the floors are welded? Can’t be too much metal work left? And will you guys deliver this to KCW? 🙂John JonesKeymasterFebruary 16, 2018 at 11:32 amPost count: 6496
I agree… I didn’t say anything.. but Patricks bus is freakin awesome!!! I wonder how long he has been hanging on to this…. Nice work guys… and the KOMBI!!! Shit… I can’t wait for our first campout together…. 😎
You tripple J’s are tripple baddd asss….. Keep saving all those barndoors!!!!!!!!!
Pete.. I don’t see why Patricks bus would be coming here? The tripple J’s can handle anything!JbParticipantFebruary 16, 2018 at 11:42 amPost count: 616
He picked it up day after New Years in Calgary Alberta. I think almost all his funky green is in hand, he trying to escape work long enough to come up and bust ass at the shop for a week?I don’t know how he’s lasted this long not laying a finger on it!
So so so so amped that my metalwork is almost done…..was a chunk of work? camping in it is going to feel so good.PeteParticipantFebruary 16, 2018 at 12:22 pmPost count: 886
