Thanks brotha! I’m just stoked that it’s finally made way front and centre?

Since the original thread is lost, I’d like to point out this here bus was the absolutley start of the tripleJs collaboration! We all knew each other from the scene but really didn’t hang…. until Johnny got the lead on this bus up in the interior of BC. Going off 2 super shitty old school flip phone pics was kinda sketch!

I had just come out of back surgery exactly a week before and Jarod was off work because he squashed is finger like a pancake in the rollers ?….all good we were medicated ? a 4th amigo Andrew was game for some sleepless fun too

We left work, packed truck and trailer, hit ferry off the island and drove straight through the night. Me and Johnny tag teamed driving, while jrod and Andrew guzzled beers and stunk up the cab…. almost ran out of gas in butfuck nowheres, took a 2.5 hr decgetour and still arrived before the beer store opened haha. Picked up Robert (75 year old owner of property RIP ?) and he took us to his property. What a killer place! was pretty picked over but still super cool to explore! Had to drag a Hyundai pony out of way and cut down some little trees to load it up high on adrenalin! Found a squashed ribbed rear fender (used to patch up vert) and a 54 Canadian custom wing nut floor pan in the junk heap that came home too (registered and sold) the bus had no trans so we brought a dolly that bolted to the frame horns….turns out that was a bad idea cause once the 8×8’s moved around under it the horns bent up on a 45 ?? that was an interesting piss break to find that mess haha  oh well just one more thing to fix (they were rusty anyway)

Last few shifts have been trimming the scraps, prepping for blasting and new metal to arrive. I tackled my long rocker, I’d have to say probably my best butt weld to date ? no filler needed! Almost too straight for this jalopy bus haha!

I learned long ago the more time u spend prepping and making your splice line up perfect and not have to pull things into line to tack the flatter it’s gonna lay! My air compressor shit the bed last week so I didn’t even quench he spots with air…I think the typical warping comes from improper pre fit more than heat sometimes? Metal just has no place to go, heaves up and sinks down to find room. I also didn’t have the bottom of rocker clamped to inner for welding/metal finishing…I think this also helped?

I don’t have the 3 finger spring bushings for the top hats…this cheap ass didn’t wanna spend 80 euro plus shipping for them so I made a delrin bushing, .025” clearance, gonna work money! Will make a second for the front and then something similar instead of W spring under shifter…..will shift like budda! ?

humm… well that is nice as fuck… 😉  😉  😉  I’ve never tried welding a rocker in like that…  I would generally have my B pillar in already also..  Your killing it on this rig…

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

I don’t know if I could justify spending as long as I did if was a paying job….I prob had 8-10 hours into that from trim to finish? More of a challenge to myself than a race?

I would have liked to have the B pillar in first like u say but I’m still waiting to hear if my order has left Columbia yet? it’s only been 3 weeks after told everything was in stock? I spent some time with a straight edge lining it up vertically….should be good I hope!

picking away at little stuff while I wait for the funky green, lower bulkhead needed love as well as bottom of tool box panel

We almost done metal on the 65 sunroof at the shop so bus will get moved soon and then it’s on like donkey Kong!

Paul…. I got tracking numbers on your green metal yesterday… 5 big boxes on their way from columbia! Sorry Josh… ? ? I buy and install more green metal than the most ambitious of funky green customers.. ? ? ? year after year, bus after bus, project after project..

hahahah that what u think buddy! 90% of my shit got shipped Tuesday from the land of cocaine….it landed at my buddies place in Washington state Thursday!!!!!! 2 fuckin days! If I had 4K in metal shipped directly to Canada I would get hammered with probably better part of a grand in duty and brokerage from fedex!!! They were out of stock on a a few parts and promised to ship in a week….we will see? I gonna wait till all there before I hop the ferry and go pick up. It’s killing me knowing most of my shit is so close but can’t get my hands on that green yet!???? I have been picking away at a few things in mean time?

Not everything has to be a show stopper lowrider.

Def ain’t gonna be no show stopper or low rider! I almost had myself convinced was gonna be stock height then I went and spent 6000 miles in the seat of a certain kickass roadtrippin ripper of a barndoor this summer???????????

I like to haul ass, I can’t drive slow….it just ain’t me! Jacked up just doesn’t handle and rip like a lowered bus ? I’m aiming for a sensible driver type height…Parker’s 21, maybe a tich lower?

In a perfect world I’d have a running gear set up and wheels to go both ways ??

remember the brakes we were gonna get for scarface but deal didn’t come in time so went SACO? Well I just happened to aquire them???bombproof tanks with factory GTi vr6 vented rotors and German calipers!

Well fuck, how do I get this thread transferred over to the Canuck corner? Zack…help a brotha out? That membathat guy is the only thread in ????? Can’t have that…he barely posts?

so been laying low last month or so on this project…we been killing it on jrods bus…it’s almost 100% welded now and square as anything! Never know it was rolled..or once a63 panel haha! Maybe I’ll convince him to post a pic or 2?

my long awaited hoard of funky funky green and everything from WW I need to complete the bus landed on home soil today??

gonna be a few weeks before I start welding but I’m so stoked to see it all complete sitting in front of me after all this time? First order of business is getting my bus on a tip jig and blasting the belly…that’s happening in 2 weeks with any luck?? I sense 2018 will kick off with lots of black boogers haha
