Chapter two in Josh’s life….. Did you guys see J Rod posted.. wow… He must be concerned for ya Josh!!!!!
I hope to make it back up to see you guys in the next few years.. Maybe after you all three have functional campers…. 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Got word today that the joshs kombi is next in line for suspension and motor after the split bug we are doing, I am headed down Thursday to smash away on the beetle and get it done as soon as we can!! we need to get our campers all set up for this coming season, I’ve had enough of 3 dudes sleeping in the bd everywhere we go lolol, with this new lifestyle josh is talking about me and jrod will be sleeping in welding helmets……
Wait wait wait when have there been three dudes deep in the BD 2 wreaks enough 🤐 this new camper interior you yapping about I’m gonna miss farting on the bare steel roof skin from the top bunk hahaha
Put some fresh seals in today!!
trying to do something every few days to keep the ball rolling
Pics of the beetle your working on? Did U say split?
We will build it if it comes.
Ya pat, little work on a friends car, trying to make room for my bus to be finished!
He bought it as a basket case out of Washington. It was a crotch cooler 3 fold that was crashed (I guess?) so they chopped it at the bottom of A pillars and undid the pinch seams, unfolded the roof drip rail and grafted whole roof, dash to gas tank, rear firewall and parcel shelf all as one into a really straight dry bottom of a 59 cutting the CC’s into the 59 front quarters. At one point the 3 fold clip was removed and a sedan roof added (I know who did that part and is only nice work on this car!) The rest of work looked like it had been jockied around to a few shops….definitely different skill levels (or varying degrees lack there of!) someone attacked it with a single sided spot welder scabbing little galvanized patches covering gaps in pillars, lots and lots of nasty welding left, dozens and dozens of drilled out spot welds never plugged, oodles of globby bird shit welds left to grind and re weld the porosity. There’s brass braze rod in the front (that’s fun to MIG around talk about fireworks!) general unfinished super non glorious pain in sack work to finish…..how did I get talked into this one?!? Ah well it will be a cool car once done. Theme is Standard lowered on burners I think? JJ your old WW okras said from the outlaw is owned by Trevor now and will find home in this car! Haha
Fitting an early popes nose to later w lid…
Shitty pillar patches
Seemed it was destined to be an IRS car….body mounts were hacked off, fixed now
One of bumper brackets was fucked so replaced with short early style
More pillar shit all out of order
Not much left to do except convert the 53-55 doors to one pc glass
Amazing how much work has been done to some cars over their life. Going to be a killer ride when done.
Keep knocking it out!
We will build it if it comes.
Boy, that does look like fun. Did you say “polishing a turd” 🙂
Boy, that does look like fun. Did you say “polishing a turd”
bro this is the definition of the proverbial 💩 that saying is absolutely bang on here!
Im pushing through it tho…..converted an early 60’s hood to a 4 tab standard last night
Fits real nice….this will be a rad car once done! Think the plan is a quicky satin sand grey paint job, euro style no trim, painted bumpers, 3 spoke, small headliner layed out on Burners, low bling slow ass okrassa WW 36er😎
Cool build Josh and JJJ’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
