I donβt really like it..Β Too narrow. Β Β I guess what I really want is a tilt and a front roof rack….πππππππππππππ.
Humm…

Test Pilot @ Submarine AirwaysI got that gas door all in and done… It looks right at home… π π
I am pretty sure I can still fit a stock tank in the stock location…. Maybe I should weld down another set of tank cradles?? πΒ Β Noooo..Β The whole idea of moving the tank was to gain that room back there.. πΒ It’s still gonna be a reach… πΒ anyhow…Β I was also thinking about where that petcock on the tank is now relative front to back.. If I were low on gas… and on a steep hill… I might “run out of fuel” ?????Β humm..Β I would have to be really low on gas, and on a really steep hill… but just sayin.. π
If I did run dual tanks… Why not just “T” them together?Β Dual tanks would mean not having to carry extra.. πΒ But T’ed together, when you run out, you run out!!!!Β Unless you had a reserve setup on one of them….???Β πΒ 22 gallons of gas..
The idea of the single cab is no top heavy weight…Β Β I need to keep that in mind… π

I was thinking about dual gas tanks yesterday when you were doing this mod, canβt see why itβs a bad idea!!! Just put a shut off valve on the side tanks line Β and use it as a huge reserve!!πππ
You could do what we did for endurance race cars and put a low pressure electric pump on the spare tank to fill up the main tank!
You guys stop all the time when driving busses. They are slow and uncomfortable.
Its not like you’re trying to do 500 miles in one sitting.
Facts, Buuuutβ¦. Keep 420 behind the parcel tray on that little shelf, beef jerky, get a dedicated pee bottle, and you could just cruise along for quite a while if you wanted to. Fully filled it only adds 65 pounds or so and gives lots of options!!!πππΒ But yeah, stopping and enjoying where you are/going is a big fun part of Bus driving!!!π
Iβm thinking now I will find a sealed cap for a bus tank and weld in a vent on the neck. Β Iβm also really thinking about welding in another set of tanks cradles and having two tanks!!!ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ» Β Be sweet to have a 12v pump mounted handy you could suck gas out for other buses in the left side door, all handy with a few feet of hoseππ»ππππππππππππππ
Oh… Iβve been sanding too.. getting close since my objective is patina. ππ»ππ» Β Β But still lots of sanding to do.ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππππππππ

Looking good JJ. I like the dual tank idea
Thanks Scott..Β Β Yeah. The dual tanks seems like a no brainer the more I think about it..Β Β π πΒ I should probably order some tank saddles and a 58 decklid… πΒ That will leave the most usable spot of the treasure chest open, also takes care of extra fuel issues π π
more sandingΒ πΒ Now I just gotta decide when it’s nice enough for some fake patina!!! π
Pin holes and edges… π
