New dirty shop project.
We will build it if it comes.
Got started on Gerhard’s 68 Beetle today. Started by unbolting the bumpers, fenders, and deck-lid.
Then moved onto taking out the windows and disassembling the doors. Got to ripping the headliner out.
Then finished my day by taking the dash off.nice work
looks pretty clean to start with
Yeah it’s a nice car. We’re going to do an adjustable beam and 205/75 grabbers too.
Got to do some clean shop work today! Reading some manuals and Dad helping me throughout the day allowed me to get ‘er knocked out. Got the engine out then moved on to removing the transmission. That transmission was FILTHY too man.
Thoroughly enjoyed moving over to the clean shop for the day! I like a bit of variety.Riley kicked butt yesterday!!! Thanks for attacking such a greasy job with enthusiasm.
I scraped the trans area yesterday. Rolled everything outside this morning and power washed.
Trans will go out for a rebuild. Car is ready for the dirty shop.
We will build it if it comes.
Going to be a quick simple refresh for this beetle!!! Easy fun project!!!!
Riley has been working out great around here.. I enjoy his help and company.. I have also enjoyed watching him learn and get into his job and start to shape into a productive young man!!! 😎 😎 😎
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻

Really enjoy seeing the new blood in the VW community. I fore see Riley as an up and coming restoration specialist and leader in his generation.
Stripped down the motor and transmission today. Trans to the center section and motor to the long block. First time I’ve messed with a transmission! Also the first time I’ve disassembled a motor by myself (although I did get a little bit of help).

Much appreciated! Your comment too alykat! It’s so cool and fun to work in such a badass shop. I’m literally getting paid to learn and have fun…I love it!!!
Wow !! Congrats Riley ,on becoming a great asset to KCW.

Test Pilot @ Submarine AirwaysI’ve been sanding, grinding, body working and prepping this shell for some primer.. which is more than probable to happen today!!!
I didn’t take ANY pics… so just imagine it… 😎
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
We did get this rig masked and 2K primed yesterday. Pics today!
Riley mounted fenders and cleaned the undersides yesterday as well.
We will build it if it comes.
Riley got all the hunk off the bottom side of the fenders and then stripped them for us!!!
I think Monday we will knock out the body work on the 4 fenders and start on the hood and deck.. get some primer on those parts and try to get some paint on this rig by the end of next week!!!! Sounds doable!
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
