woke up excited to get going today…. 😎 I wanna prime this shell today!!!!!!! 😎
Gonna be sweet!!
Maybe we could talk her into some fuchs…??
Hell yeah. Glad you talked her into stock resto. The wheels should be two tone sea green and white I believe. The example above is incorrect. Inxay on the white wall tires. Too fancy for a economy car like the VW was intended to be.

Get Kindig to build you some 19s with the white walls built in the wheel. Solid idea.
Goal met!! We knocked out the remainder of body work and JJ had me lay down the poly on the shell. She’s going to sit for a few while we knock out body work on Juan’s ghia.
We will build it if it comes.
Can’t believe I’m such a nerd that I’m looking forward to a stock Beetle build!!!! Gonna be AWESOME!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
starting blocking out fenders today…. 😎 Looking great…. 😎
More block sanding today!!!!
Chris about has the whole car blocked out…. Looking GREAT!!! 2K primer next…. 😎
Chris has everything blocked out Friday afternoon. I had the fenders and shell in 2K by end of day. Last 2K session was this morning on remaining removables. This one is gong to sit for a few while we get Juan’s Ghia bodyworked.
Super happy with the way everything came out!!!
Chris is stripping down the pan this morning. Looks like we going to need to do both pan half’s on this one. He should have it out in the blaster later today.
We will build it if it comes.
This project looks about ready to sling some Turkis on it!!!!! 😎 Nice job guys… 😎
I called up TMI yesterday and ordered a custom bus interior. Como green/ phosphor door panels along with a como green vinyl headliner. Going to look killer.
Franz–you hurt my feelings real bad. According to the Wolfsburg West color records for L380 Turquoise, the correct rim colors are Sea Green L381 for the wheel disc and Turquoise White L286 for the outer rim. NOT white. Mine are as close to the original colors as are available from the local powder coaters.
And while whitewall tires are a personal preference, I have the original Made in Germany spare tire which plainly shows that whitewalls were at the very least an available option on the 63’s.
Excited to hear the Turkis Militia is doubling in size.
You’re right, l286 turquoise-white on the outer.
^^ except we’re not building that anymore. Galina came by and changed her mind on colors again.
We’re going with bus specs on this build. Should make for a neat custom/stock look beetle.
-l289 blue-white on the entire outside
-l380 turkis on the dash and all the interior sheet metal
-l82 silver-white wheels. Maybe we can talk her into a sea green or turkis centers later.
-como green vinyl stock type headliner
-como green/phosphor door panels (like 63 turkis bus would have)
-green canvas seats with white piping. (custom request because vinyl is sticky and hot)
just to keep things up to date… I had Chris give it another go over…. and we put some fresh 2K on it yesterday, and just finished the parts also… Blue White like Franz’s bus,, coming up !!!! 😎
