had to pull it all apart again. Tried to fix my leaky trans (seals at the axle/trans) this past fall before my Baja trip. No luck

JAD machine took care of my leaky trans today. Had to replace the rubber rings between the races on each side. Pretty easy job but you have to have the right tool. That “square” next to Johns left leg is his home made specialty tool to unscrew the race.

Nice drive out to Mancos.

Two I know are likely to rot in before they’re released into the ground. One close to Paonia, the other close to Gateway. The other is “yes, I’ll probably sell, but now I’ll not.” One is “I’m going to fix it and drive it up.” Next year, check with me.” Now over 15 years, they have spoken with both.

There are at least three that I’m aware of in the North Fork Valley. One may or may not be the one you reference.  Same stories. May sell some day or not for sale at all and don’t ask again unless I call you.

Different folks but same mind set.  I have been trying to buy a split bus from a guy over near Gateway for almost 20 years now. Every year it is the same story. ” Not this time, but you should check in with me next spring.”  I’m starting to think he just wants someone to stop in and talk VWs time to time, and this way he can count on at least one visit a year.

Dreams of Baja are surfacing !

Plan is to leave early April for a month. Been working on the Bus. fixed trans leak and installed. Basic tune on engine and clean up and should be ready.

I think this will be the 59s 8th trip down. excited
