Had this happen to me too…. Either tight case or not enough oilling? Shit happend… fix and move one!! 😎 Like your doing!!! 😎

I built a budget motor for a buddy years ago in which I set the end play on the low end at .003. He put in his Bus during the winter. On a cold day he started it, immediately started revving it up and locked up the rear main exactly how yours looks. That’s the last time I set end play to .003 on a motor that is being used in a cold climate.
On a good note, I was able to clean up the saddles, JB Weld the dowel in place and the motor is still running today.
