Wow ! This really blew me away. So many people I would’ve never expected to make the trip for a few beers ??

I was so surprised when John and Gretchen walked in to the already packed bar ! Then later on Franz and Dario showed up ! WTF ? Thanks a bunch for making the trip. I had fun hanging with you guys that night.

Yeah, that was a good time. I still can’t believe you found a meteorite!

Bubba was showing me his rock collection. Hands me this black rock and says “check out how heavy this is”. Looking closely you can almost see the crystal structure from the burned exterior. I stuck a magnet to it….and was like yep.

This is what it will look like inside.  Would make a cool shift knob or something if you wanted.

Thanks jeff for stopping by and helping me get my trans back in shape! I couldn’t have done it without ya.

I should be able to get the SC back on the road now.

Its a good thing because the 64dd has something going on now. Loud “clunk” on my way to town today ?? Sounded gnarly but I was able to limp home. I’ll update once I get into it tomorrow

I was driving down the road yesterday and I heard “clunk” at 50+mph…

as I limped home I heard a few more strange clunks.  Any suggestions for diagnosis is welcome. Heres what Ive checked:

 

I lifted the bus and spun all wheels, good ! Was listening for wheel bearing or any other issue in the drum. Pulled the motor to look at throw out bearing and clutch fork. Fine. Spun the trans, nada ?

Stuffed the motor back in and drove down the road. Shifts nicely in all gears. Its (trans) a bit noisy but I can’t figure out wtf is going on ? It must be in the transmission ?

Look for something in the brake drums? Drain the trans oil and look for chunks?

Trans installed in SC. Waiting for a few gaskets to arrive today and I’ll stuff the motor in.

Engine is in SC, took for test drive and the trans works well and shifts nicely in to all gears.
