I would caution everyone on those clamps.  I had one break on my way back from California back in 2012.  KCW actually saved me.  I was about 50 miles west of GJ when I got gas and noticed the clamp broke.  Fortunately nothing was rubbing.  I called the shop and they had a stock one laying around that I picked up and installed right away.

I think this might be like the 4th time I have heard something about those clamps.  They must be of less than acceptable quality..

It is good practice to keep an Alt clamp in your break down box at all times.  And if you like the fancy style clamps, I would not tighten the fuck out of them…. 😎 😎  The stock setup uses an 8MM bolt and nut…. the fancy thing is 6mm or 1/4..   and can’t be tightened to the same torque us gear heads are used to using on it.. 😎
