Well, big weekend for me and Betty!! Started off great. Also, forgot to tell y’all we replaced the cracked and dry CV’s 🙂 Stoked!! Got in a ton of climbing, camped in a BEAUTIFUL area called Indian Creek about an hour south of Moab. Had an amazing time with my good friend Clara and her dog Ueli! It was a kick-ass weekend, and of course when I was 15 minutes outside of the next destination (bluff, ut), I lost most power. Felt a big boggy, like my points were off. So I went back to check and it the screw that you turn to adjust the points was fully stripped. I could have done this, it also could have been cross threaded or something. Regardless of HOW it happened, I didn’t carry an extra full on distributor or that small screw. Unfortunate. Got a tow in to camp with my classmates (here for a school trip), and Cole is going to overnight me a new distributor. Hoping I can pop that guy in and make it home safe at the end of the week! Now understanding why I need to carry more parts and tools, Slowly building up the toolbox.

I swear by those Pertronic’s solid state pointless system. I used them on all my air cooled engines since they came out. Never had one fail. Last set of points I adjusted where on my old ’75 Honda Goldwing. 🙂

if you are planning on replacing the distributer anyways what about a little sheet metal screw if you can scrounge one up
