Started accumulating some Empi junk for the Goodrich build.
Kicked ass on tin repairs/mods/fits last night for the Goodrich bus motor.
All that’s left is to finish up the Double barrel draft tube, and vent to the 1/2 side valve cover.
We will build it if it comes.
Such a great build. I love watching this project.
Clara panels were waiting for me when I arrived tonight. Two roof panel sets and one kick panel set. I’m guessing the extra set is for the your other ‘58?
These roof panels are always a pain, but I got them in with no mods/damage. WOOHOO!!

Question for Pat- how in the heck did you get these roof panels in with the wood bows in place? I am struggling getting Clara’s panels in with the wood from my Westy in place. I tried soap on the edges to try to make them move smoothly in the grooves, but man they are a PITA.

The wood bows were not in my way at all.
I use a block of wood laid up against the rear edge of the panel and tap it in slowly and EVENLY with a hammer.
It helps to push up in the center of the panel to help it bow as it gets tapped in.
Never have used any “lube” to make it slide easier.
We will build it if it comes.
The fridge that came with this bus does not fit in the cabinet. So we’re going to use the door and fake the funk on the rest.
Started by bead rolling the panels to add some rigidity.
Top and bottom.
Sides and back.
Coming together.
We will build it if it comes.
Jeez Pat, is there no end to your skills?!
Thanks for the response regarding the roof panel Pat!
Early fridge is a rare bird, and I can’t wait to see it installed. Great job man. Thank you for the motivation
Cut, fit, and secured supports for the bottom of the “fridge” Sunday night.
Also got the box welded together.
Checked for fit.
And started fabrication on the face panel.
Finished fab and fit on face panel first thing last night.
Face panel fit and welded to the box.
Door fits Aaaawesome!!!
Abrasive blasted. Prep for paint up next.
We will build it if it comes.
Hell yeah Pat! What color are you going to paint? Tan westy interior? White? Silver?

I’m going to color match the fridge in the Goodrich 58’ westy
Made up some lower hinges for the fridge door last night, old ones stayed with the fridge.
Started with some chunks of steel.
Used the mill to make some holes in the right spots.
Tapped the mount holes.
Found the right size old drill bit to use for a hinge pin.
After some shaping and sanding we’re there.
Came out great!!!!
We will build it if it comes.
This rig is still in process eh???
Custom 6volt/12volt generator backing plate fabrication.
The early piece is a much better look.
You guys are killing the details on this thing…nice work Pat & Franz!
Sanded, masked, epoxy sealed, and painted “fridge” box and door. Also worked on securing the rest of the cabinets now that fab work is done.
We will build it if it comes.
Almost there… looks like your working on the Goodrich motor ??? Sweet!!!
That fridge is awesome! Wood is 100x harder to work with than metal, no welding wood back together and the whole interior looks so fresh.
Good job!
I’ve been busy on this the last couple days.
We were missing the support for the forward camper bench seat. Cut one to shape, sanded, ready for a couple coats of urethane.
Fabricated clips for the gas line that runs to the fridge. Epoxy sealed and painted the clips and line.
Final sanded and polished the lower hinges I fabed for the fridge door.
All cabinets in and secured.
“Fridge” in. Super stoked with the finished product.
Cleaned and installed trim and little bits.
Cleaned up and painted sub-hatch prop rod and front awning mount bracket.
Started prepping table for a fresh coat of urethane. Sanded everything down and glued down any loose veneer.
The last of the wood work to finish. Yeah!!!!!
Also made up a bracket for the table leg to mount to.
We will build it if it comes.
Interior is coming together beautifully, Pat!
Wow nice work!
Don’t think I coulda sanded off that leaf tho…
