Got the left C pillar and hinge pocket rebuilt yesterday, short rocker and cargo rocker burned in 😀 Doing lower nose today, front floor next 😀 😀
I’ve been slathering Rust Bullet in the body cavities over my marginal sandblasting for a little protection.
Things are looking up for this poor bus!

This bus is one of the coolest! Whats the plan with those windows ?volksaddictParticipantDecember 23, 2017 at 7:34 amPost count: 596
I’m going to leave the little hacked in crooked gangsta windows in it Bubba, even though I really like panels. That means I get to chop up a og high hinge panel door 😮
Got the lower nose in yesterday, more Rust Bullet slopped on in the nose cavity, short upper nose fitted and coated on backsideJohn JonesKeymasterDecember 23, 2017 at 10:47 amPost count: 6545
and that is how you do it FOLKS! 😉volksaddictParticipantDecember 25, 2017 at 6:42 pmPost count: 596

Is that a three wheeled dolly? 😉 😉 😉 everyone flips their bus over these days….. I been flipping busses for 17 years.. 😉 😉 😉 😉
I dunno why Jeff bought that POS truck.. he has a BEAUTIFUL SWR red one he has hidden under the deck.. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
Your kicking ass Jeff!!! Like usual I guess.. 😉 😉volksaddictParticipantDecember 26, 2017 at 9:16 amPost count: 596
Dunno why I bought the 60 single either… softie for a transporter in need I guess. That Binz conversion idea is a bad one, too many parts to fab that KF don’t make, Binz’s are kinda ugly I think, compared to a factory dc, and from what I’ve seen those trucks are a freaking hack from the factory. I was thinking custom camper on the back, but it’s waay on the back burner, this thread is about ddwt’s 😆
I finished stripping the cadaver to the bone and stuck it on the rack, 4 wheeled dolly that works better on 3. There are welds that need to be finished that I could not get to any other way, and a big hole under the driver’s seat pedestal that couldn’t get fixed without the beam coming out. The suspension and trans need a good cleaning and there is lots of bare metal down there now that needs protection. Didn’t want to do it but knew it had to be done. I just added 6 months of time to this project. Drive train looks pretty good for 59 years old. Looks like og shocks on the rear, coil overs on the front 🙄 to compensate for the torsion bar sticking out, I don’t think this rig saw too many miles.68tintopParticipantDecember 26, 2017 at 9:24 amPost count: 722
I think it was a smart idea to buy it. Binz would be sick. The camper idea is cool find a old aluminum camper and modify to fit that would be sweet. U seen one at BBB last year it was slammed and it was bad to the bone ghetto ride. CmonBBB68tintopParticipantDecember 26, 2017 at 10:02 amPost count: 722
Kickin that DD ass. Nice work we need to get all 3 DD together and have a campoutvolksaddictParticipantDecember 29, 2017 at 6:31 amPost count: 596
Got the last of the removables off the cadaver, E brake handle, shift rod, rear hatch – all the fun stuff 🙄 Got to the hole under the seat pedestal, if transporters have a hell hole like a 914, this is it. Spent most of 2 days in this little spot, found more rust above my bulkhead repairs when I could see behind, but it’s solid now.mtnbusParticipantDecember 29, 2017 at 8:52 amPost count: 1103
Holy shit ! Lots of work.. Way to go man !FranzKeymasterDecember 29, 2017 at 9:02 amPost count: 3534

Getting it done… Jeff… Your an inspirational motivator… Bubba has been telling me this about you for years… But I think this is your forst project i have had the privilege to follow… 😉 😉 😉RustabusParticipantDecember 31, 2017 at 11:36 amPost count: 1935
Awesome Jeff!!!! Damn, you REALLY get after it!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀volksaddictParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 6:30 amPost count: 596
Still moving forward. Lots of little odds and ends. I stripped my roof with a pneumatic polisher and a 6″ stripit disc. I can see the metal now and feel it, started beating out the big hammer wallops and things are beginning to go back in place 😮 . With the new floors, pillars and inner structure the carcass is solid again, rings like a drum when you bang on it or flip it back rusty side up 😆 not like the wet noodle I started with.volksaddictParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 6:38 amPost count: 596
I had to fab a piece of engine seal lip. First I picked up a piece of green metal scrap and bent it around a steel rod about the size of a front torsion bar. The green was hard to bend and didn’t look right so I picked up a scrap of black stuff – the cheap Danish panel material, bent like butter! The Colombian metal is thicker and stronger than the euro stuff 🙂
I need a spare tire mount. Franz can you hook me up? I’ve seen you make 2 of ’em now.VwfoolParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 7:36 amPost count: 290
Making some crazy progress. It is inspirational.
