I heard you bought a shitty SC laely… 🙂 🙂 🙂volksaddictParticipantDecember 17, 2017 at 9:28 amPost count: 516
This thing is so fucked, it needs a new everything from the cab back, and a lot in front too. After I pulled the bed and floor off by hand I decided that the 58 was an easier project 😆volksaddictParticipantDecember 17, 2017 at 9:30 amPost count: 516
“Getting after it!!!! If I lived closer.. I would have to come by and help ya!”
That would be so fun!! 😀John JonesKeymasterDecember 17, 2017 at 9:35 amPost count: 5841
Damn.. that thing is beat to fuck.. 🙄tlambertParticipantDecember 17, 2017 at 8:56 pmPost count: 264JbParticipantDecember 17, 2017 at 9:19 pmPost count: 544
Shit our 55 sc has that one beat in the ratfucked contest ?John JonesKeymasterDecember 18, 2017 at 7:28 amPost count: 5841
More green metal in? Jeff… You put the inner dog leg in first and then the outer? or outer first?volksaddictParticipantDecember 18, 2017 at 8:00 amPost count: 516
Inside first, why would anyone do it opposite?
The side gate is rotted out on the bottom. Like everything on that single.
If it was a 55 it would be a great project, will take a lot of new metal for just a 60 tho.John JonesKeymasterDecember 18, 2017 at 8:13 amPost count: 5841
The last few I have done.. I did the outer skin first… Then I can get those welds on the B pillar at the top of the skin… I set each end.. and weld it.. Get the top of the outer welded to the B and then put the inner in,,,, make sence? I’ve done em all kinds of ways…volksaddictParticipantDecember 18, 2017 at 8:21 amPost count: 516
Like I said, first time for me for complete doglegs. Try that next time 🙂
There is a whole order on what comes first when you are doing that much new metal. It can go smooth or not depending on the order of installation.volksaddictParticipantDecember 21, 2017 at 7:31 amPost count: 516
A little progress this week 🙂
WW rockers I had in stock. I like the e coat on their metal but it doesn’t go inside the rockers so not much use there 🙄 Wish they would ship them in 2 pieces so they can be installed right.
C pillar and short rocker came out nice, cargo door should fit better now. I fucked up and didn’t buy the long C pillar for the other side, wasting time rebuilding that one now 🙄John JonesKeymasterDecember 21, 2017 at 8:32 amPost count: 5841
Looking good Jeff!!!!!! You still holding that roof up in there? 😉 😉mtnbusParticipantDecember 21, 2017 at 9:09 amPost count: 865
Hell Yes ! Lots of work getting done on that beauty !volksaddictParticipantDecember 21, 2017 at 9:16 amPost count: 516
Yes I’m ignoring the roof for now, getting the lower stuff back in place. It will need some shrinking and bending, and another hole closed up. 🙄
Snowing today, can’t go to real work 😀 😀 😀volksaddictParticipantDecember 22, 2017 at 9:22 amPost count: 516
Got the left C pillar and hinge pocket rebuilt yesterday, short rocker and cargo rocker burned in 😀 Doing lower nose today, front floor next 😀 😀
I’ve been slathering Rust Bullet in the body cavities over my marginal sandblasting for a little protection.
Things are looking up for this poor bus!

This bus is one of the coolest! Whats the plan with those windows ?volksaddictParticipantDecember 23, 2017 at 7:34 amPost count: 516
I’m going to leave the little hacked in crooked gangsta windows in it Bubba, even though I really like panels. That means I get to chop up a og high hinge panel door 😮
Got the lower nose in yesterday, more Rust Bullet slopped on in the nose cavity, short upper nose fitted and coated on backsideJohn JonesKeymasterDecember 23, 2017 at 10:47 amPost count: 5841
and that is how you do it FOLKS! 😉volksaddictParticipantDecember 25, 2017 at 6:42 pmPost count: 516
My project took on a different angle for Christmas!C.HamburgParticipantDecember 25, 2017 at 8:51 pmPost count: 157John JonesKeymasterDecember 26, 2017 at 8:18 amPost count: 5841
Is that a three wheeled dolly? 😉 😉 😉 everyone flips their bus over these days….. I been flipping busses for 17 years.. 😉 😉 😉 😉
I dunno why Jeff bought that POS truck.. he has a BEAUTIFUL SWR red one he has hidden under the deck.. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
Your kicking ass Jeff!!! Like usual I guess.. 😉 😉volksaddictParticipantDecember 26, 2017 at 9:16 amPost count: 516
Dunno why I bought the 60 single either… softie for a transporter in need I guess. That Binz conversion idea is a bad one, too many parts to fab that KF don’t make, Binz’s are kinda ugly I think, compared to a factory dc, and from what I’ve seen those trucks are a freaking hack from the factory. I was thinking custom camper on the back, but it’s waay on the back burner, this thread is about ddwt’s 😆
I finished stripping the cadaver to the bone and stuck it on the rack, 4 wheeled dolly that works better on 3. There are welds that need to be finished that I could not get to any other way, and a big hole under the driver’s seat pedestal that couldn’t get fixed without the beam coming out. The suspension and trans need a good cleaning and there is lots of bare metal down there now that needs protection. Didn’t want to do it but knew it had to be done. I just added 6 months of time to this project. Drive train looks pretty good for 59 years old. Looks like og shocks on the rear, coil overs on the front 🙄 to compensate for the torsion bar sticking out, I don’t think this rig saw too many miles.68tintopParticipantDecember 26, 2017 at 9:24 amPost count: 677
I think it was a smart idea to buy it. Binz would be sick. The camper idea is cool find a old aluminum camper and modify to fit that would be sweet. U seen one at BBB last year it was slammed and it was bad to the bone ghetto ride. CmonBBB
