I love double door walkthrough busses! I’m neck deep in the rustoration of this old pos, it’s been waiting for over 10 years.
It’s pretty rough, to say the least!
Had a camper interior and who knows what else inside it when it sat in Texas for a long time, it literally rotted out from the inside due to the creased roof and stupid leaky astro vents.
Cargo floors were totally gone, but the belly pans are intact.volksaddictParticipantDecember 9, 2017 at 7:46 amPost count: 660
Been rolled a time or two as well 🙄volksaddictParticipantDecember 9, 2017 at 7:52 amPost count: 660
Getting the love it deserves!
Sorry my pics are all out of order but you get the idea.volksaddictParticipantDecember 9, 2017 at 7:56 amPost count: 660
Things are looking up!
Christmas came early for this bus 🙂 Burning in new metal is sooo much easier than fixing old rusty shit! Think I’m high on funky green fumes!volksaddictParticipantDecember 9, 2017 at 7:59 amPost count: 660
Fitting the complete B pillar now, PITA!volksaddictParticipantDecember 9, 2017 at 8:04 amPost count: 660volksaddictParticipantDecember 9, 2017 at 8:18 amPost count: 660mtnbusParticipantDecember 9, 2017 at 8:29 amPost count: 1292

Thanks Jones, you are my inspiration and keep me motivated doing this dirty nasty work.FranzKeymasterDecember 9, 2017 at 10:21 amPost count: 3917
Wow. That is a cool bus, and also a pos.volksaddictParticipantDecember 10, 2017 at 7:31 amPost count: 660
Burned in the B pillar for good 😀 worked the front drivers door which has been crushed from the rollover, welded and ground the driver’s roof hack, starting to look for things to do while waiting for green metal. Not Klassicfab’s fault, I didn’t order everything I need, and the lower front valance I had in stock and planned to use is for later bumpers. I’ll keep it for the 60 DDWT 😛
Passenger side rain gutter doesn’t look bad, looks like just a roof rust repair from front to back 🙄 and the gutter is straight with no road rash but it is rrrrusty!! pinholed all the way thru all 3 layers to the cargo door opening 👿 I think I’ll jump on that today. Notice the parcel tray over the motor area is all clean and solid now, and gull grey/mango green. Thanks to the half a 60 mango that became a playhouse many years ago. The rear corners for Bubba’s 59 came off that playhouse too.volksaddictParticipantDecember 10, 2017 at 7:38 amPost count: 660
Any of you who don’t do this kind of work should be aware just how dirty, unhealthy and time consuming it is. Those of us who do know have burns, scars, pieces of metal stuck in our welding-burned eyes and probably lung damage from playing in a dirty shop. And KCW knows how to do it right! Probably takes John half the time it takes me to do these repairs with his skills and specialized shop. Better quality work too…
Take it to KCW! Quality doesn’t cost, it pays!John JonesKeymasterDecember 10, 2017 at 7:41 amPost count: 7344
amen to that!!! But JJ isn’t accepting any new customers at the moment. 😉volksaddictParticipantDecember 10, 2017 at 7:46 amPost count: 660
Take a look at the cargo floor I had to adjust. Not KF’s fault. I had this laying around since the early days of KF, I thought it was a DD floor but when I got it out years later the left side is non cargo door, and the right side was set up for only 1 cargo door??volksaddictParticipantDecember 10, 2017 at 7:51 amPost count: 660
Good call. No gas tank pads tho.volksaddictParticipantDecember 12, 2017 at 7:45 amPost count: 660
Actually the floor does have the depression for the fuel tank petcock, I bet it was a dc floor…
Worked on this spot all day sunday and beyond. Would have been easier if my repair piece wasn’t so bent up 😡 Had another roof clip portion but it is as rusty as the one I cut off. Fixing repair pieces 🙁mtnbusParticipantDecember 12, 2017 at 8:48 amPost count: 1292
