I keep going back to this in my head. Why 25 pounds? That is going to be over 500 hp. If you haven’t driven a 500 hp VW you’ll be in for a scary surprise. Engine life will be exponentially shortened. Just curious.

(For a reference, I keep mine around 12-16. And they are ridiculous fast.)

The real question is will it really need 25lbs/500hp to get on and off the trailer?  😉😀

I’m scared to drive it. Been up on the lift all week.  Ready to do the glass install and exhaust fabrication.

I would be too! Turn that thing down to 8 pounds!

No adjustment on the waste gate…

I’m guessing that the cb gen4 fuel injection has a map or a limit for that in the software somewhere?

Made some air cleaner hardware this morning. Looks more “finished”. Stainless allen heads on top.

Yes you can go to the overboost settings. Cut timing when it reaches whatever level you choose. An electronic boost controller would be best. It’s very simple.

Yep, Gen 4 has a boost controller. We hid it on the backside of the fan shroud.

Yep. Mine is even smaller. But the same thing. I think mine is Ingersoll Rand? Probably still an air compressor controller. You can really smooth out how it works so you don’t feel the “on/off” surges. There’s a big boy word for that but I can’t spell it.

I believe there is a 11-12 psi rated spring in the wastegate.  Mark at CB said a boost of 11 or 12 is fine for the motor.

Franz, the air cleaner hardware looks great!  I would suggest calling Mark at CB to confirm boost, what controls it and if there are any combinations that are multiplying it, i.e. 12 pound wastegate spring + boost controller + software equals 25 or more boost.  I am with Scott, boost of 25 is way too much.

We’ll get her figured out. I’m going to work on finishing this machine next week.

Titanium exhaust arrived from Ticon. Looking forward to fabrication.

Pie cuts ready to tack together into whatever bends I decide to make.
