Hey Franz – I noticed the oil cooler/fan setup on the driver’s side. I’ve been planning to put one in our bus.
Do you have a manufacturer or supplier you’d recommend?
I’ve seen a bunch of cooler/fan sets available, but not with mounting brackets, etc. Did you have to fab them?
Thanks for all the great advice!FranzKeymasterApril 26, 2020 at 4:57 pmPost count: 3358
Thanks Brent. There are a few manufactures for oil coolers. This car has the empi version. Setrab also has a nice compact unit.John JonesKeymasterApril 27, 2020 at 9:12 amPost count: 6326
awesome old T shirt…. I think this Turbo Oval is ready for assembly today!!!!!FranzKeymasterMay 6, 2020 at 8:05 amPost count: 3358
Yep, she’s all back together. I even polished the tail light housings. We used to have a gas station that sold 104 octane pump gas…but they didn’t have it anymore. Maybe octane booster mixed in with some 91?
Been making a plan for the exhaust modification. We want to move the exit to the passenger side….the exhaust tube is going to have to snake under the bell housing, I can then mount a muffler next to the passenger valve cover. The exhaust from the turbo is titanium, so we will have to by a bunch of expensive parts for me to fabricate with.Scott SainParticipantMay 6, 2020 at 10:36 amPost count: 249
Octane boost isn’t enough. I’d put in tune in it that allows you to run on 93. Not fun buying race gas for every drive. Where do you have to boost set now?Scott SainParticipantMay 6, 2020 at 1:21 pmPost count: 249
Good lord man. Then you need 116.
I believe you might be joking.John JonesKeymasterMay 6, 2020 at 3:02 pmPost count: 6326
25 sounds like fun… 8-). I hope we can build that with the rail!!!!! 😎FranzKeymasterMay 6, 2020 at 6:26 pmPost count: 3358
I got the good stuff to tune on. Better safe than sorry. The best pump gas we have around here is 91 w/ethanol.
