Everything fits. Camber looks perfect. We’ll be able to run some meaty tires. The Porsche Boxster brakes are huge, they are 1/8” away from rubbing.

This will be so neat when on the street. I was watching a You-Tube video yesterday of a big truck trials in GB. Everything from 4×4’s to 8×8’s. All snarling diesels and black smoke. All the sudden the video sound goes quite’ and I realize this dude has an electric truck. Pretty cool.

I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.

Some Bilstien shocks arrived yesterday. I got the B8 valving on the rear for lowered suspension.

Does anybody have suggestions for Batteries? I thought I had a lead on some mustang mach-E batteries…but Jehu ghosted me.

I need a little help on choosing and stacking cells. Is used ebay stuff the way to go?

Hey Franz, I can call up Michael Bream tomorrow. He always has his ear to the ground on sourcing batteries so at the least could give some suggestions on places to look.

    That would be awesome Glenn…  We need someone to point us in the right direction.. So we get the newest, lightest, easiest to hide, store, charge and replace when necessary down the road..  I was hoping some cool young cat at an electric car manufacturer would help us out here…. 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎

Jehu did email me back yesterday. He has mustang mach-e cells we can buy. What do you think Glenn?

Mach E cells or modules? Looks like the Mustang battery pack produces a little over 400v so that will be enough to power your motor

Just spoke with Michael. His recommendations we’re either using these. 6 of them in series would get you to the required voltage and fit nicely in the luggage space of the bug. Could fit 6 more in parallel to increase amperage and range

He also recommended these JH3 LG Chem Super Cells. 12 would be required to get to operating voltage, but he mentioned that he had just received another version of these modules (JHP) that have 2 already in parallel that they’ll be adding to the store soon after they finish their testing. (to me these look like they’d work better for a bus conversion)

He did warn that the large Tesla motor is hard to run in a bug due to the high current and voltage it needs and that it’s too much power.

Here’s a good resource I found on their website. https://www.evwest.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=476

All of these batteries he has in stock and could deliver in 10 minutes. – Michael

We talked about the Jehu mustang cells and he said that these are going to be torn apart modules with the wire bonds between the cells cut. Effectively you would be buying the cells and building your own modules/pack.

Another note is that the EVWest modules come rewired with new BMS harnesses so that it’s easier to get things wired up to the BMS.
