Thank you everybody for the kind words!
Pat is it just me or have your metalworking/fabrication skillz just gone WILD lately?
I turn 43 this month, like fine wine Willy, I’m getting better with age I guess.
Burned in the package tray/firewall and dressed all of the welds last night.
Moved onto the drivers side lower a-pillar and heater channel repairs.
Braced the a-pillar and started cutting out the junk. Going to put in a new lower a-pillar section.
We will build it if it comes.Pat KKeymasterJuly 10, 2020 at 1:31 pmPost count: 1470
Knocked out a large chunk of the driver side a-pillar repairs last night.
Auto-craft a-pillar section from Wolfsburg West fit really nice, only needed to move a portion of of one flange a bit.
Had to fabricate a couple of small sections for the heater channel and fender well repair.
Only a small section of the lower front quarter and some misc. pin holes to go in this area.
We will build it if it comes.Pat KKeymasterJuly 14, 2020 at 2:05 pmPost count: 1470
Finished up driver side a pillar/fender well/quarter panel repairs.
Moved onto pass side rocker repairs next. Small section with a running board mount nut was first.
Cut out all the smashed and rusted junk from the b-pillar to the end of the rocker. Treated everything with rust fix. I’ll start fab’n repair sections next.
Also sectioned the rear seatbelt mount reinforcement from the old package tray and welded it into the new one.
We will build it if it comes.RSP3ParticipantJuly 14, 2020 at 7:11 pmPost count: 147

Long section of the outer rocker had to be taken care of first. Bent up a section, burned in a nut for the running board mount, melted it all together and dressed welds.
Heater channel end cap went in next.
Last layer was a section of the rear cross member. Just one small piece of the rear quarter panel/fender well section to go in this area.

Finished repairs on the rear section of the pass. side rocker. Before and after pics, forgot to take some during fab.
Marked out the new pass a-pillar lower section and cut the rusty junk out.
Worked up a section for the heater channel and started burning it in.
Dan sent a pass front quarter panel section because…..
Donor is a VW panel but a later NOS section with a conversion bumper mount which changed the pressing of the fender well area.
Sooooo……does anyone have nice front clip for a 61-67 they want to part with??? Pleeeeeeeeease…. with 🍒 on top!
