Baker Hot Springs for a week long bachelor party! I’d come to that! Bring some dirt bikes, baja’s, and other toys.

I don’t know why Franz is trying to highjack the 912 thread with Toyota junk!;) but ya. Found a clean 90 pickup in Durango. Cortez truck originally. 22re 5 speed. 4×4. Pretty excited. Best part. 69k miles! Motor runs great. Just had a new clutch, timing chain, water pump and suspension put on. The guy I bought it from is a Toyota tech. So I’m hoping that means all his work was alright! Haha Has a not amazing respray on it. But whatever. It’s a truck. Going to get rid of my Volvo wagon before it start to have electrical issues… haha
had an exciting maiden voyage over red mountain last night! Got slick on the summit. But this truck drove great.
thanks JJ for the shuttle over to Durango! And thanks rusty and holly for dinner! Great to see you two.WillyModeratorApril 17, 2021 at 12:05 pmPost count: 1678

yup.. as usual.. last person he asked, and JJ came through with a ride to Durango.. then slept in Rusty’s drive way for a few nights before driving home…
This truck needs jacked up and some 44’s put under it, 😎
After he gets his beetle trans fixed.. 912 motor and trans built, race in Europe and 12 other things he has planned… 😎

Well I spent all of last week at Speed Week! I’ve been years before. But not for that long! The bike usually has issues or the salts bad or something…. So this was my first year of a full speed week! What a fun time! KB’s back was bugging him so he only got one run on the bike before he had to head back home for some family obligations. That meant I got about 15 runs all to myself all week! I love this knucklehead. “Sepia” as Shinya calls it. Loved hanging in the Japanese corner of the pit. Almost all the people on the small “tumbleweed racer” team is Japanese. Makes for some fun times!!
-Triumph went 114(record for the APS-VG 750 (partial streamline vintage gas) class is 116)
-240z went 171 (personal best for Taka)
-knucklehead went 121 (personal best for me and best for that bike at bonneville)
I had a couple wild runs. One where I broke the shift lever off(luckily it was when I went into 4th) And another run where the long brake lever rod broke! Hit my foot soooo hard. Then it must’ve flung down and pegged into the ground causing my back tire to jump at over 100… that was fun. then it was flying around behind me and I realized what had happened. But in the moment I didn’t know what it was. So I Looked up at the front end and didn’t see anything that had come off…. So I tucked again and pinned that thing! That bike is so fun.
now I’m all hot and bothered to go fast on a motorcycle haha! Can’t get it out of my head. So I came right home and started tearing my ‘53 triumph 650 apart…. I’ve had it for 10 years just sitting… so I guess this is a good reason to finally do something with it! I got it when I was 15 so I could get it running by the time I got my license… I just turned 25…. Better late than never! Hahaha
