Soo, finally dragging my fat ass out to garage to finally put my cars together.  Starting with putting the motor back in beetle after putting in new transmission. Ages ago I picked up a barely used clutch at the shop… it doesn’t look anything like what was on when disassembled.F2444922-2AAE-4070-80B0-107EF4D60391E722E906-A607-4AAD-A052-542DCDCF50873B7B4FC6-70B1-4B3E-B2B1-7D88694006E43DB0ADA9-6F9A-491C-B402-39FED6213DF6

The clutch on the grey tile is the old one, the other is the one I picked up at the shop.  Thanks as always

Yeah, the one on the car is a 180mm 6 volt style. The used one I gave you is a 200mm 12v style. Not interchangeable.

Hey Franz…I am going to order the EMPI 180mm clutch kit part number 32-1256b.  I am also ordering from MOFOCO the 180mm flywheel: MFC-FW180.  If you can will you double check and make sure I am ordering the right thing.  I was hoping that when it came in, I could bring the motor down and you could help/show me how to set up end play.  if its easier you can just order the stuff to the shop and ill bring the motor up when it comes.  As always, thanks guys.

No problem I can get you a clutch kit.

Our Napa can re-surface the flywheel for something like $25 no need to buy one.

Hey Guys…Yesterday I broke the gland nut whilst trying to take off the flywheel.  Anyone have a swell trick for getting the remaining nut that is in the crank?

    Bummer dude…

Is the flywheel still on? If not weld something to what’s sticking out of the crank.

Try a chisel around the edge driving it counter clockwise.

We will build it if it comes.
