A few “as found” pictures that I may not have shared earlier.WAY2COOLParticipantJanuary 28, 2021 at 10:55 pmPost count: 451
I noticed on the last video that you don’t use a spring from the throttle bar centre bracket back to the body …as a return spring.
I have my new Type 4 2 litre motor with 40 Webers ,in and thumping.
The current setup has the return spring fitted ,however it does make the accelerator pedal a bit heavy going.
Should I be able to run without the return spring ala Buddy’s bus

Hey Kim, there are secondary return springs on Buddy’s engine…I put one on each of the carburetors, a little spring between the air filter base and throttle shaft.
That way we avoid putting spring pressure through the linkage bar.RustabusParticipantJanuary 29, 2021 at 11:16 amPost count: 2851

Thanks Franz. That’s a great innovation.I’ll give it a try.
Is the top of the spring held by a split pin through the base of the air filter ?
…..you know the deal
