Dug a pair of beetle short axle tubes and correct bearing caps out of the boneyard. Chopped the big end off and added a 1 1/8” to get the correct length for the straight axle conversion. 79CA047D-0A62-4D15-8F59-04D6ED9E8C1E5816A788-B6DD-44BB-A62C-C37E07D688DDB1BDA5C3-57DD-43E1-8712-8B9EA8241EC0D3EB1B31-4003-4316-AD11-19953589BB02D14E4967-E202-486A-A030-B566BC78AE7CDF7D0535-F770-4D4B-8D51-F36A29E7A026

The long side blend polished out great! …And the color is spot on.

I polished the OG paint door, dogleg, corner, and between the windows this afternoon. Pictures in the sun tomorrow.

The long side probably got more paint or a second coat to keep it wet at the factory??🤷‍♂️

We still have several dents to work out on the roof, corner, deck lid, and passenger door.

I fit and tacked some beam gussets this afternoon while Pat modified lower torsion arms and prepped for chassis parts paint session.

It’s going to be like a big model kit for assembly when the Wolfsburg west order arrives next week.
