All the lower arms I have ever seen have the ball joint end pushed back and ovaled..Strap around the end would help ??
Good idea. I’ll look into that today.
I added a small piece of 3/4” tube to support the bottom/backside of the ball joint cup.
Welded up real nice. Moving to the bottom side.
I was able to support the sides of the cups with some 5/16” rod wedged in from the bottom.
Sorry for the delay in progress, I felt like this was important to address since we’re not planning to carry a spare arm.
Finished welding and touched up paint along with some other parts.
Rear sway bar mounts fully welded, sealed and undercoated the other day too.
That reinforcements on the ball joint end of the front as👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞👍🏻👍🏻
Franz has done sooooooo much welding on this rig It’s gonna be solid as a tank!!
It feels good to be putting parts back on this car!
I re-routed the positive battery cable to the smuggler box and sealed the holes in the floor with foam and glue. Water tight.
Also, cleaned/greased the steering bearing and made a new lock plate for the steering coupler to rack bolts (the old ones broken when I folded the tabs over – last step🤦♂️)

Gas tank extension to move the hose and clamp further back for clearance on the new shock towers. See the vertical tube.I can’t imagine how great this car is going to feel sliding around corners.
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
More parts cleaning and re-installation today. Brake lines, master cylinder, and pedal assembly.
I’m officially on team P2P as of this morning!!!
Tearing down the front hubs and brake calipers.
We will build it if it comes.
Looking awesome..!!! 😎 I heard there will be a KB sighting today!!!! 😎
KB and my brother Weston sighting! Fun dinner. Glad they got to see the car
Needed a little modification on the air cleaners. The deck lid hinges were really close. Didn’t want them rattling. Cut them all up and Franz welded them back together at an angle. Great clearance now.
clutch adjusted. Fluids changed. A bit of wiring on the engine tomorrow. Doing as much as we can. All the little bits add up
Good call on the phenolic spacers. Will make for easier hot starts. Not sure why these motors like to boil the gas in the bowl, but they do.
