John – does the interior and undercarriage get primer?  Since you’d have to put the attachment on the dolly to get at the bottom, do you do that before the outside?  Just wondering…

We will block out the shell and put some 2K primer on that.. Then call the outside ready to sand for paint… We then look over the inside, anything we may need to body work and prime.,, Then install the flip over dolly and sand, prep seam seal and epoxy seal and paint the bottom side…  Flip back down uninstall the flip over plug in andsand prep, seam seal, epoxy seal and paint the inside, whole thing, and engine bay…   Then… we will sand the whole outside and mask and seal and paint roof, then mask that and seal and paint the outside red… let dry over night, sand, mask for two tone, and do it!!!  Then move to the removables.  prep outsides, prep insides, hang em all, epoxy seal again and paint.. let dry overnight… sand, mask for two tone, paint it!!!

So yes, everything gets primer or epoxy sealer under it… 😎 😎  You should look at Mikes DC thread… find where paint started… and read his thread and look at pics… any bus thread that got a full resto will work… 😎

Poly is the polyester-based primer, its high build so it helps smooth out the little imperfections in the metal, kind of like another layer of filler.

2K is a surfaced primer that’s usually thinner and more durable and helps to fill in any scratches from sanding. It’s like the last layer of primer that gets sprayed before the bus goes in the paint booth, so they sand it ith really fine grit so everything is baby smooth!

    Short answer: they’re primers!

Spray poly is a filler primer… 2K is a surfacer for scratches.. Thanks for helping will… 😎

Your removables are in Poly… Time for me to join the blocking party on the shell!!!!  Pats got a bit of the roof already done and says it is sanding nice!!! 😎

Whoa – Pat gets to work EARLY!!  THANKS for all the EXCELLENT craftsmanship!!

Since I’ve owned this bus for so long I knew it was basically straight and sound – but it’s been GREAT to see just how straight and sound she actually is after you guys have stripped her down and worked her over!!!
