Zion National Park 2000.
When we saw the sign we couldn’t resist donning our period tie dye – AND PARKING THERE!!!Made more progress today on drivers corner… Got the big ol PITA patch in and hammered things into place….
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
Nice work John! Clean welds!
Man that Bus is in Great shape! Going to be perfect!
Back on this one yesterday.
Started by welding up a few pin holes in the inner cargo rocker.
Knocked out the cargo floor patch next.
Then flipped it over and started fitting center sections.
We will build it if it comes.
Between yesterday and this morning I was able to get everything fit and burned in on the bottom side. Going to dress welds down under then flip it back upright for the last of the metal work.
We will build it if it comes.
That is SO great! Our baby is going to be SOOOOOO beautiful!!! You guys are the best!
Pats kicking ass on this rig…. Thanks Pat…. I guess I need to get my head back around this…
I wanna make it awesome for you Brent… But…. You know… I just did another road trip.. that…. if I was worried about paint and body and dirt and shit… it would have taken the fun out of my vacation… I fucked up both my bumpers on this trip… and added many scratches… I want you to still get out and enjoy it after we are done….. but then… You got that $$ invested… you don’t want to beat it up… it’sa tough balance!
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
ALL the work John & Pat have done is absolutely TOP NOTCH!!! Lori and I can’t decide which of us is more excited! MANY thanks to both of you guys!
Hope you had a great bus trip, John. Sorry to hear you banged up your bumpers and got a few new scratches – sounds like you had an adventure!
Yeah – restoration is a tough balance. We’ll definitely still be taking our baby out on some nice adventures – just probably not as hard core as when I was young and stupid.
Finished dressing welds on the bottom side repairs yesterday afternoon. While grinding I noticed a bit of crud poking out from under a couple frame ibeams.
Started poking and digging.
We usually cut out the whole floor so all of this crud goes with it.
So I cleaned between every floor rib and all the frame sections I could poke in.
Will will be abrasive cleaning any area we have done metal work and will get these areas at the same time.
Good amount was still hiding. All cleaned out.
Front bulk head, inner front valance, and inner dogleg repairs done today.
We will build it if it comes.
