Yeah – Willy’s right. Gotta get the shift rod in early…
I have a feeling this will be driving sooner then most of us would guess.
If you’re going to use sound deadening insulation on the backside of the nose I would take care of that before you do any wiring upfront.
Keeps us updated. We like pics!
We will build it if it comes.
Good point, Pat! It would be a nightmare to try to put insulation in behind the wiring!
Brent.. may we please see the bus all jacked up in the garage.. maybe with the door open, you out in the snow?? 😎 😎
So… Have you put anything on the bus yet??? 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Pics make everything better. Its the pixie dust that fuels the site!
OK, KCW brothers and sisters – here are some pics of our baby safely on jack stands in the shop!
The engine for her is all ready to go – you can see it bagged under a bench in one pic. Same with the trans – it’s on an engine stand behind all the stuff covered with blankets. Still need to hang the axles and reduction boxes, but they’re all done. Under all the blankets is the interior/camper stuff, except the panelling (all cut to size, finished and ready to install) is in our storage garage out back.
Since we got her home I’ve had to work (like a dog) on outdoor chores – trying to get all that done before winter really hits us with a big storm. Then it’ll be too late. Soooo – so far all I’ve been able to do with our baby is order up some parts (wiring harness from WW) and go out and look at her! (It’s killing me!) I should be able to get started on her reassembly pretty soon – then look out! Pics will follow.
Hey,cool shop full o’ veedubs Brent

Test Pilot @ Submarine AirwaysThe pinball machines are a nice touch!!! KCW needs a pinball machine in a corner somewhere! 😎
“Life is a waterfall,
We’re one in the river and one again after the fall”Dario – glad you like ’em! They are collectible vintage games that I played the hell out of back in the day.
I played Fireball (1970) in the local pool hall, and Captain Fantastic (1976 – video games, like Pong, were brand new) in a dive where I bartended. Vector (1980) is the first generation that had any real electronics. It has an electronic voice that insults you while you’re playing – maybe KCW needs one like Vector!
Love your garage!!! Looks like an awesome place to hang out and build a bus… 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Oh yeah, Captain Fantastic took my lunch money back when.
Sweet garage!!
Damn. I gotta clean my garage
the bus (and ghia) look awesome
I’m taking the day off from outdoor chores – and hanging in the shop and working on our baby!! YEAH!!
