Right on John – window frame assembly is a bitch.YberParticipantFebruary 5, 2020 at 10:05 amPost count: 148
Any tips on how to get the vent wing glass and seal in the goddamn frame??
The manual shows a special jig to push it in. How do you guys manage it??FranzKeymasterFebruary 5, 2020 at 12:40 pmPost count: 3217
Wrap the rubber around the glass, then lube with silicone spray or wd40. Set frame on something that won’t scratch it. Then use a big dead-blow hammer on the glass edge to drive it into the frame…Its a rocking motion you have to start the corner nearest the vent wing latch first.
Don’t worry the tempered glass is strong.PeteParticipantFebruary 5, 2020 at 12:48 pmPost count: 829YberParticipantFebruary 5, 2020 at 12:55 pmPost count: 148
Thanks, Franz! You da man!
How about the rivets that hold the latch to the vent wing frame? Same technique as with the pivot rivet?YberParticipantMarch 3, 2020 at 1:41 pmPost count: 148
Hey Franz – got another question for the master assembler.
I’m wondering how you deal with the lower felt window track on the front door. In order for the latch on the slider to fit in the notches on the plate, do you trim that side of the felt?
If so, do you just trim just where the notches are, or do you trim out that whole side of the felt? Any tips?

Yeah, just trim the notches out. Sometimes I forget to cut before gluing the felts to the frame, and have to do it carefully with a exacto knife afterwards.YberParticipantMarch 4, 2020 at 9:27 amPost count: 148
Yeah – that’s where I am. Figured it out AFTER I glued them into the frame!
Thanks AGAIN, Franz!
