Just cranking away on this rig!!! Dirty shop smells like epoxy primer!!! 😎
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
damn thats been a fair bit of work
coming along great now
Got the driver side battery tray and mudflap fit earlier. Then moved on to grinding the welds on the driver side dogleg.Just finished grinding the welds on the passenger side.
Final fit and burned in pass and drivers batt trays and mud flaps. Driver side shelf also.
Pass corned had accident damage up higher.
Instead of hammer/dolly work and shrinking to get it back in shape we just cut out the damage.
Rolled over to take care of bottom side stuffs.
We will build it if it comes.
Stayed late today. Fabed and burned in a wire harness tube.
Drag line for the new wire harness pulled through in the process.
Relief cut the smashed up rear center section. Straightened it out, welded it all back up. Also fit & burned in fresh heat tubes.
Epoxy sealer laid down on all the bits that will be sealed up between the belly pans and cargo floors.
Damn near dipped like the factory did it!!!
We will build it if it comes.
DAMN this shit is looking good!!!!!!! Damn!!!! Crispy and nice!!!! Pats kicking it’s ass right!!
Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
Jumped back on this after masking up Toms 23 window for paint this morning.
Center belly pan fit and ready to burn in.
We will build it if it comes.
Two down. One to go.
We will build it if it comes.
Lovin every minute of it!!!! 😎 😎 😎

Some of the best metal work done at KCW. I’m excited to see more progress if Pat makes it back from vacation. 👌🤫🙁🫶
Sounds like Brendan is going to have Letcher or someone else finish the paint and assembly at a later date.
We should paint the bottom side and insides correctly before it leaves….You know that we have a perfect paint code for velvet green?
Curious why this got belly pans on it?
The metal work is top notchBrendan is thinking about cutting a dormobile roof into it.
Fuck yes! Dormobile top would be awesome

uhg… uhg… I hate to see it leave without being done!!! There is not a place more setup and or equipped to finish a project like this than KCW. But I’m sure he is about tapped out on spending money…I would be!!! I understand!!.. I think we are up on top of some weird bubble right now and it’s just about to pop!! I think life in general has gotten super expensive, I feel like controlling the cost of a resto has become almost impossible 8-( 8-( Maybe we are going to have to slow it down… stretch out the experience, which means more cars around here… I dunno…. But I have been thinking about it alot. 😎
One a lighter note 😎 😎 😎 …… the Metal work on this rig is fuching awesome!!!! Pat Kendall does some mighty FINE metal work!!!! Them belly pans look freaking perfect!!! I love the mini porta power holding trick there… 😎 Pat is so crafty.. He is super good at working by himself also, figuring out how to hold or pick up something or push something without getting help. Like the belly pan.. 😎 All the extra effort he’s put in to blast away all the rust and epoxy everything… This bus is going to last forever!!!! 😎 😎 The work we do for our customers needs to be like that, it’s what they really want!!! It looks awesome, it is awesome.. 😎 It’s the details.. Pat has done enough busses now that he knows the details.. like in the wheel wells and the oh soo important closing panels at the ends of rockers and shit… It takes many years and busses to learn all that.. It also helps that we always have a bus outback you can refer to.
Looking awesome!! 😎
