Check out what I found ben. I got 2 2.5 single cam motors, both has the crank gear with a shit ton of teeth already, and both had the “anti skip guard” you’ve talked about. It bolt on right above the crank trigger wheel, and it’s crazy close to the belt…keeps it from jumping I guess.

Yep, that’s the item I was talking about. I’ve read that it keeps the belt from jumping a tooth in the event of a sudden bump to the drive train. Some say a hard down shift would do it. It’s only found in manual transmission models. Maybe the crank trigger is manual trans only too? There is a clearance tolerance for the skip guard too. To tightly installed, and you will wear a groove in the timing belt.

Got my exhaust done Sunday and installed last night. Just relocate my heater core now, and I’m ready to rock again.

Yes sir! Worked mucho better. Clutch feels nice too.

Put the heavy duty sway bar on, handles a lot tighter now, but got to investigate a rattle in the drivers door.
