I assembled a gear stack yesterday. 72 carrier with a welded 1.32 3rd and early 4th gear. Steel shift fork from a super beetle. 4.12 ring and pinion. Ready for class 11 racing.

Hell yeah!  I find transmissions fascinating to build. I haven’t done one in 10 years.

Franz has really put some thought into his trans choices this year..   I think we may as well buy the tools we need to do them 100%?  I’m about to have what I think should be a forever class 11 trans…  Not that I have had any trans problems… but I did have a spool and and broke my shit in crandon.. I think I was letting my spring plates fall t0o far and stressing out my axles and tubes…  opps.. 😎

Dave Co said somewhere, and I wish I could find it.. something like….  “With a swing axle car you just gotta run em lower and let em smack the ground”

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

In order to make time, one must spend time.

Did you weigh the gears before you lightened them?  Just curious

No, but some math guesstimate is around .5lbs with the reverse gear.

impressive!!!!!! 😎 😎  Most detailed blue printed trans build I have witnessed…    Franz is making horsepower!!!  😎  Light weight is all you can do to try and set yourself apart from the other cars..

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎
