Yeah none at all… JJ daughter and a subi swap…  as if one or the other isn’t enough pressure it’s both!

Its cool, I got this. Just keep working steady.

I got the exhaust all tack welded up..not sure I’m 100% happy with the exit port of it. I think function for ground clearance it’s great, but looks kinda goofy from the side.

Gonna keep going forward on mock up. Engine hanger needs some dialing in, exhaust needs fully welded.  the basics are there.

Tomorrow im going to dig into the cooling system before or after my junkyard Parts run. I got an idea where I can leave the ports in the stock location.  Be sweet to get the fuel system handled too!

couple hours of wiring Tuesday, my main relay board is already built. Just need to solder my wires to the subi pig tails.

Super stoked on the progress already…. 😎   Andy is fun to hang out with… even if he doesn’t own a running VW and likes subi’s… 😎

Been a wild ride, but it got me here 😎

Corey… I thought you were building a solid business plan for Hamburg Enterprises down in paradise… 😎 I can’t imagine trying to do what I have done again… I couldn’t live through it….8-)

I have the plan man. I fix shit around here that the bodyshops are afraid to touch or if it’s not an insurance job they won’t. Although I hate my daily grind with a passion, I’m there for another 2 and half years.

Gretchen and I were talking last night about you…. She and I were in your same spot not long ago…. I was a WG12, had a new house, 2 new kids about 10 years of service, a huge TSP account… But I was BORED TO FUCKING TEARS with the GOV work… I had sooooo much more in me than rotting away at a military base… But it sure was comfy!!!!! 😎

I wish I could get 3 or 4 of you badd ass VW guys together to buy, own and grow a shop that is already established, already here, with work for years.. I’m about used up…. You sound like fresh energy….. 😎

and now…. almost 18 years later… I’m feeling bored again, and ready for a change.. 😎

I had an idea Government work was going to suck, but not this bad. Some people are perfectly fine rotting away doing these jobs, most I’ve seen have absolutely have no other skill in life either. In the last 7 and half years I’ve worked my way from WG5 apprentice all the way to WG11, I’ve put in for some WG12 spots but don’t make the cut (meaning, I don’t lie on the USAjobs.com questionaire or over embellish on my million page resume only written for a government job). Also tried going to the rubber and plastics shop just to get out of boring electrical troubleshooting which I hate with a passion. My TSP isn’t huge, but have the wild idea of cashing it out and opening my shop rather than putting my house on the line. Failure isn’t an option if I do this.

    Enough with that crap lol

This Vanagon is going to be awesome. definately want another one someday, either VR6 or subi. My cousin had a subi powered Westy and they think its great, they used to try and travel when it was VW powered and they said it sucked.

I enjoy seeing Audrey checking the site…. 😎  I’m glad both my kids have been able to experience my work from one of my customers points of view… as far as being excited and seeing how valuable the website is for keeping people who are not local in tune with their projects and progress!!!  Waking up and thinking the first thing you want to do is check the site…. 😎    I think a very interactive website helps a business a lot in these days of social media cell phones and shit,,  It’s way for ALL of us to stay on the same page… and everyone can read it and see it..

See ya in a few days Audrey!!!

I got the Subaru wiring done. It’s simple JJ, you can’t connect anything into the wrong port, injector plug is only an injector…

Going to try to have everything else mocked up today. Then blow it apart to make it pretty cuz it’s ugly right now!

once I fire it up I’ll remove all the stock vanagon wiring that I don’t need. Easier to leave it now than find it later.

Do work young man! Looking good. Cranked up by end of day?

I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.

I don’t think so ben. I wanna get everything else dialed in. I think I could, but nothing to prove doing that.

So my Japanese style exhaust wasn’t gonna cut it for me. So I redid the exit. Much better.

Guess I need to make a Parts list and take the Baja to the store
