Ok sounds good. I’ll bring some stuff to fix those issues.
If you get a new gas tank there, I’ll swap it out while I’m there. Doesn’t matter to me, how old or new the vw is..just nuts and bolts.

You probably dont need a whole new tank, you can just order a tank reseal kit and drop the current one and put new seals in it. Rocky Mountain Westy will have those, you’ll need to know what size filler neck you have.CorporateKeymasterAugust 18, 2019 at 7:59 pmPost count: 637
I bet we can get a seal ordered! Andy, I have your reservation on the KCW calendar! It’ll be great seeing you!

Well… I am sad to say… I think I have LOST the subi lottery again… again!!!! So.. what is so awesome and reliable about subi’s????????AndymParticipantSeptember 12, 2019 at 10:00 amPost count: 867
What’s the fuck…. well, I say we do a rebuild on a motor so we know it’s a fresh start. I can do it all here then ship it to KCW, then come out and swap it. Sound good JJ?

sounded in the heads to me.. but who knows… rocker?? Three damn engine’s… fuck.. I want a 100% rebuilt as good as it gets subi motor to put in this rig!!!BBWBParticipantSeptember 12, 2019 at 5:53 pmPost count: 709
That sucks. I’ve had zero issues with the most mysterious of mystery motors for three + years.

It was popping when revving. Sounded like a exhaust valve seat to me.
I’m sure a leak-down test would tell the tale.BBWBParticipantSeptember 13, 2019 at 8:07 amPost count: 709
Maybe just needs the heads rebuilt. Sounds easier than sourcing a whole new donor car/engine.
