Audrey sounds like the swapped worked great! The air plane sounding fan is perfectly acceptable to have turned on and off. That means it’s all working good.
Yeah Xmas time have old JJ put a thermostat in it…the one in it I cut the guts out out. $5 bucks to replace it. OR for around town, put a piece of cardboard or something to block 1/2 the air flow to the radiator upfront so it won’t constantly be cooling??

Dont you think in that environment that she definitely needs as thermostat so the engine and oil stay warm?Pat KKeymasterNovember 26, 2018 at 9:49 amPost count: 805

You got it JJ, the bleeder screw is on top of the radiator. I used that to fill it backwards. No Big deal, small coolant bath and 2 10mm screws and it’s fixed.
Why did i gut it? I’m stupid I guess.

Awesome, thanks Andy!! YES! The swap worked great!! Zack and I were doing just fine in the traffic… meanwhile there were plenty of BMWs and Range Rovers overheating on the side 🤣🤣🤣
As soon as I got off work I drove the van up into the canyon a little bit and had a snack at the table in the back! 😁 I need to clean the windows when it warms up a little…ColeBParticipantNovember 26, 2018 at 10:17 pmPost count: 1079
Awesome! Looking good. Up Boulder canyon? I’ve done some climbing up there. Super pretty and super easy access from town 👍🏼Pat KKeymasterNovember 27, 2018 at 5:14 amPost count: 805

Gonna be hard to wait til Spring to camp!!!!!Audrey JonesKeymasterNovember 28, 2018 at 4:56 pmPost count: 105
Yep, Boulder Canyon! Its beautiful in there! We actually live on Canyon rd. In Town so it’s a super quick drive up! I think I might have to drive it up the canyon to Eldora and snowboard this season sometime! we could have lunch in the van 😁
yeah, no kidding!! I can’t wait to go camping!! Pretty much as soon as there’s a “warm” weekend 😁
We took it to get fast food last night so we could park it and eat at the table in the back! 😁😁
any excuse to hang out in the vanagon 😎John JonesKeymasterDecember 4, 2018 at 9:38 amPost count: 4591

I love going on adventures in our bus!!!AndymParticipantDecember 4, 2018 at 7:26 pmPost count: 761
Sweet!!! Audrey, you check the oil or coolant levels??
The oil level is my main concern. I’m sorry the heater isn’t working work a dam.. once you get back to KCW and have someone put a thermostat in, it will cook!!

Feels more like a Bus with no heat!!!!;)Audrey JonesKeymasterDecember 5, 2018 at 3:16 pmPost count: 105
Exactly Rusty! Just giving me memories of my childhood!! I’ll survive! Plus Landon needs Volkswagen boot camp, and the engine is already “too” quiet plus the many other luxuries, so the lack of heat is good for him 😁
I have been checking on the oil and coolant Andy, but I’m glad you brought it up. Oil seems great- plenty in there! But the coolant keeps going low… I’ve added water like you said but it feels like it may be time to add coolent since I have to keep adding water…? Is it possible I’m doing something wrong that’s making it go low?
