Audrey sounds like the swapped worked great! The air plane sounding fan is perfectly acceptable to have turned on and off. That means it’s all working good. Yeah Xmas time have old JJ put a thermostat in it…the one in it I cut the guts out out. $5 bucks to replace it. OR for around town, put a piece of cardboard or something to block 1/2 the air flow to the radiator upfront so it won’t constantly be cooling??

damn cali guys and their perfect weather.. 😎  Sounds like the ol air cooled engine did a better job of keeping it’s in habitants comfy… 😎  Hell, I was trying to see if the heat coming out of my dash would melt a straw….. 😎  am I gonna have to burb it too…. 😎  like  baby… 😎

You got it JJ, the bleeder screw is on top of the radiator. I used that to fill it backwards. No Big deal, small coolant bath and 2 10mm screws and it’s fixed.

Why did i gut it?  I’m stupid I guess.

Awesome, thanks Andy!! YES! The swap worked great!! Zack and I were doing just fine in the traffic… meanwhile there were plenty of BMWs and Range Rovers overheating on the side 🤣🤣🤣

As soon as I got off work I drove the van up into the canyon a little bit and had a snack at the table in the back! 😁 I need to clean the windows when it warms up a little…

Yep, Boulder Canyon! Its beautiful in there! We actually live on Canyon rd. In Town so it’s a super quick drive up! I think I might have to drive it up the canyon to Eldora and snowboard this season sometime! we could have lunch in the van 😁

yeah, no kidding!! I can’t wait to go camping!! Pretty much as soon as there’s a “warm” weekend 😁

We took it to get fast food last night so we could park it and eat at the table in the back! 😁😁

any excuse to hang out in the vanagon 😎

Sweet!!! Audrey, you check the oil or coolant levels??

The oil level is my main concern. I’m sorry the heater isn’t working work a dam.. once you get back to KCW and have someone put a thermostat in, it will cook!!

Feels more like a Bus with no heat!!!!;)

Exactly Rusty! Just giving me memories of my childhood!! I’ll survive! Plus Landon needs Volkswagen boot camp, and the engine is already “too” quiet plus the many other luxuries, so the lack of heat is good for him 😁

I have been checking on the oil and coolant Andy, but I’m glad you brought it up. Oil seems great- plenty in there! But the coolant keeps going low… I’ve added water like you said but it feels like it may be time to add coolent since I have to keep adding water…? Is it possible I’m doing something wrong that’s making it go low?

Well shits!! I’d soak up those miles we got on those headgaskets as free miles, we tried.. not bad for a junkyard motor pulled out on a Friday night.

Audrey if you feel you should dump coolant in it, just go buy green coolant consentrate. Don’t buy that 50% coolant 50% water mixed shit, that’s a rip off. Buy Consentrate!

Yeah im game to come out. We just need to pick a date.

Sounds good, I’ll go buy some of that. Thanks!

So Im gathering it’s ok to drive just need to really keep an eye on that coolant?

Sounds like corporate is working on coordinating dates, but I’ll be in town the 29-2 if that is an option…

yes! Make a trip out of it!! Telluride is one of our families favorite places!

Thank you for working on my van so much Andy!!

Audrey yeah just keep making sure that filler behind the lic. Plate is full.

Just an random idea, notice any water spots under it?? Maybe it’s just a hose clamp that needs tightened. If the oil looks like chocolate milk that would be a defiant sign of needing work. Otherwise I’m guessing it’s looseing some coolant on a hose clamp/connection.

have your boyfriend or brother take a screw driver to check for a loose clamp. Hell im sure you could do it Audrey.
