Willy, I did better than most of the longer wheel base cars. The track wasn’t big car friendly. Very tight turns. I hear the next track will be longer, it’s at an old air port. I was thinking an electric car would kick ass. Instant on!
So I reviewed some data in the car.. the low oil psi light kicked on for .6 of a second at the end of the run. Dam! No engine damage seen or heard of..but defiantly not bragging rights. So here’s what I think I’m gonna do to this oil pan. It’s a chopped oil pan, stock one didn’t work out. So I’m thinking if modifying the return so it returns right at the base of the oil pick up tube. Then put some 1/4” wall around it to help keep it in oil.
The dotted lines are where I wanna modify the pan and return line.
So here’s my mouse trap for the oil slosh issues. I saw the v8 guys can buy oil pans with trap doors. So off to Home Depot I got some hinges. Then cnc table I cut some metal tin pieces out, welded em up. Done!
So this is the bottom inside of the oil pan. Just need to weld it to the shorten oil pan. The hinges open inward. Hopefully it works. Got an autocross event coming up where I can test it.
