Great job JJ and team! I can’t wait to see this bus in a couple of weeks. Bringing both Barndoor buses?
I’ve been watching every second of this build but I’m still having a hard time believing that this Rig is in assembly!!!!!! 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛
I feel like the first drive for this old girl is such an event that we should not treat it lightly… I wish we could get Baird and Chip to organize us another cruise to Roosters… Next Thursday… We need to celebrate the event… Like it should be. This isn’t your average cream puff 67 resto here… Just sayin…. It’s something we should be getting together to celebrate… even you local haters that never stop by anymore..
The accomplishment is what it is…. Amazing.
sounds like I better get my ass to GJ next week. The SLC flight gets in at 11am….just in time for Roosters?
Peet and I spent the holiday weekend working on this bus.
Thanks for giving up your holiday weekend guys….and sweating the details. It looks amazing and I really appreciate it!!
Kevin… It would be awesome if you could come over and DRIVE this baby to roosters next week!!!! 😉 😉 I think we are 51 weeks into the log…. It’s going end up 52 weeks of work… One year… No big deal… 😉
This bus is looking amazing and more amazing daily!
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
Damn, been out of the loop with my son’s season finals for baseball and starting a new day job. You guys are killing it! Awesome work by everyone!!
Nice work KCW!! ?????
We will build it if it comes.
you guys built a bus in the time it took me to do IRS and a nose panel on mine and I’m still not done 😳
I can’t believe how much you guys have done since I was there Saturday. The dedication you have is why I brought my car to you.
KCW…killing it daily!
one foot in front of the other… one step at a time. 🙂
I hoe all that brake stuff makes it soon….
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
I finished the front axle and steering yesterday, while Peet started assembling front doors and electrical.
This is not an easy project. Barndoor stuff is rare and fragile. Luckily, this bus had many of its OG parts.
We’re making quick work by investing every hour we have from sun up to sun down. Concentration and direction. Its been fun.

Those two clean shop guys are rocking it.. They work well together.. VERY well… I would even venture to say the best clean shop duo I have ever had at KCW… Thier skills compliment each other, and they both have assembled many cars.. Not just Busses, not just Bugs… Lots of cars. ORDER of OPERATIONS!!! I also see them useing the VW manuals all the time.. and assembling things the right way..
I love this pic.. Shows how freakin simple a bus is….
Proud and Stubborn 👍🏻
man i love assembly!! Good Job Guys
progress is moving at light speed! This is fun to watch!
