Guessing those dimples are there for the seat cover ties.

I would cut two tiny slits where u want them and then smack it from the inside with a flat head screw driver about the right size to push them out.

    Fabrocarion!!!!!!!!!!

We will build it if it comes.

Not feeling it!☹️ The seat frame I’m assuming is 53-55 is way different than the Split frame I’m trying to make a brace for. I made tabs, curved the brace, added dimples and then test fit. Uh, well, no rear spring seat frame for the tabs to attach to and I’m also noticing that the top seat bar is much more square than the later version. Thinking it’s more likely my seats need a straight slotted channel on the bottom with no tabs. Not sure on dimples? EA287C92-84E4-49E2-9291-D0EF939E54A67293E14B-6C3F-4AD7-B699-B2D9DD2EBA7E2761A433-3812-47D1-B0EE-E53BE85C85DB17290147-1869-45C6-B466-93696C4FAE4B4F7BDCCB-F8EF-4161-90DC-F0ACFCEF8E6A73D0F620-437F-4E35-B789-038074F77AC18FE99A8A-A3C4-4481-B49C-D7F3FDCFD3D2CC0573CA-261F-4579-966D-CFE7A916AC96

Given that it is inside seat covers, nobody will notice but all the little details matter.   Think I’m gonna make a straight cut channel to width and modify later if needed. Big waste of time! Glad my garage is kinda organized so I can take one step forward and two steps back!!!?!? Wait, what?😉

Round 2!!! Way easier, just gotta cut the tube and bang it to a smaller diameter and cut to length. Simple, ( I hope!) 👍😀5FA55B97-11EE-447C-85F6-7EF4312ACEA8

So, I blew off this project last week when the back bars didn’t fit. Got back on it a couple days ago fit wider bars so that the seat tops can flip all the way forward without hitting the bottom frame. Fit TONS of spring clamps, welded up springs and made up a bunch of new little metal straps that hold the springs to frame…………… called it good for now and dropped it off for powder coat!!!😀😀😀

Check out face book   air cooled VW parts for sale.  There are always the wacked out dreamers trying to sell junk for gold prices, but I have seen quite a lot of harder to find things at what seem to be reasonable prices.
