Maybe we can finish the vert while your here… 😎 😎 just kidding…….. 😎 LOL!!!!! 😎
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
This is still a go. Papers all filed with Customs today. border crossing is July 26. JP should be down on the 27th to drop off. I am all locked in for Sept trip. I called WagenWest. They said that the front brakes “were on the way”. If you have a chance, assemble a grocery list and I can ensure we get parts needed before the visit so we can jump in when I arrive.
Creig is in Europe in early September…he can’t make it.
John……this is no Thursday club project – its a parkway project. I will bring $$.
Speaking of, Painters called and said the engine is ready. $4287 I told them you would call and pay directly.

I’ve got a ton of prep to do before you get here. The engine needs to be fully assembled and turn key… that’s like a week of work and $2k in parts. The front beam should also be fully built and ready to go in.
We’re going to need every hour of 3 days to install parts and make it drive.
Wow…..should have kept the original motor in there. 🙂 ..…..so much for a budget build. Oh well…….it will be fun. I will call Painters and handle it. If we can’t get anything specifically done in those 3 days…..let’s axe it off the list.
Did the front brakes come in?
Engine, beam, brakes, make sure electrical is good……anything we can’t get done, I can dink around with at home over the winter.
Haha, yeah brand new badass engines are expensive. After I put 40 hours of assembly on it, new webers, an A1 sidewinder exhaust, new tin, alternator coil, distributor, ect ect, its sure to double the initial cost.
No brakes yet.
sounds like nothing $30K won’t take care of … 😎
Cash sounds great!!!!

Called Painters. I’m sending them a check. They are gonna ship you guys the long block.
Wheels arrived. Time to figure out rubber.
We will build it if it comes.
Breaks made it today.
We will build it if it comes.
That’s awesome you guys are gearing up, but for an amateur its intimidating delivering bodunk special to mecca.
JP is making the border crossing on July 26. I suppose you will see him on the 27th.
JP promised that this bus is totally mechanically sound, has a perfectly functioning decklid, all electrical works, etc……..so this mechanical update we plan to give it should be a snap. 😉
JP when you get to KCW…..let’s make a list of things needed. Just to be sure everyone knows…..I just want this bus mechanically sound and drivable. I don’t care if its dirty. Dirt is cool. Would like to find a decklid and get that fixed though. Should think of the best way to clean up the logo’s too since that is why I bought it……
