Tom, I have decided on tire size that will fit both your bus and beetle well. I looked at a bunch of samba pictures for reference. Keeping with our plan of not getting too cal-look on the vert I think these will be best.

Started on beam teardown Saturday afternoon. Couple broken springs, we should have replacements.
Both the steering stop bolts needed some extra persuasion to come out yesterday after they broke. Started cleaning parts also.
Cut the old beam up this morning to harvest parts for the new one.
Pressed spindles apart. King pins and bushings are good. Spindles clearanced, reamed and ready for blasting.
JJ blasted a bunch of parts this morning, then moved onto some body work and SG paint touch ups.
Getting the bushing out of the beam was a messy job. I messed one up bit, already found a replacement in the stash. We’ll need to turn them down and the center blocks a bit to get them in the new beam.
We will build it if it comes.unkParticipantAugust 6, 2019 at 7:13 amPost count: 372

I got them non leaking factory windows out and cleaned up the window channels did some wire wheeling and coated em good with epoxy primer… Then put some sand green over the sealer and them palm green over all of it… 😎 Looks awesome…. I will sand through in a few spots later.. probably tomorrow.. I have been hammering on your front bumper.. I’m gonna do some welding and get rid of the tow hitch hole they put in the front… then do some light body work and paint them both!!!!!! I’m gonna try and get that done before I call it quits today….. I better get with it!!!!! 😎 😎 😎John JonesKeymasterAugust 6, 2019 at 3:00 pmPost count: 5706

JJ got the bumper repair taken care of, also started body working bumper.
Safari box arrived a bit damaged.
Missing a safari latch. We’ll check to see if we have a replacement.
I got the engine tins fit today. Few mods and repairs to due before blasting session.
Do you want to run this apron? Its should be a crank start. We have a fresh correct one here we could use.
Tires made it today.
We will build it if it comes.unkParticipantAugust 6, 2019 at 7:01 pmPost count: 372
