WOW, we spent most of the afternoon getting the body straight again before setting it on the heater channels. What a monster job. The car was tweaked front to back and side to side. It fought us the whole time and we finally won. It was such a great feeling to see the body back on its solid heater channels and with good gaps all around. At the end of the day we pulled it off the pan and put it back on the dolly so we can finish up some lower body metal work tomorrow. The good news is that the car really does not have any rust. It just has some very strange and carefully executed metal extractions. Nothing we can't fix, but its like a life size car model that has to be built piece by piece.

JJ and Pig killed it again. Heater channels in and major metal work almost done. I'm sure I'm missing a thousand things in details, but you get the idea of what happened.

Don't worry, we're going to shave those heater vents and drill some round ones.

Doors open/close, and the gaps look titties:

Why did they have this panel cut off? It doesn't look like there was any rust.
Same for the front spare tire area that was cut out?

Wow another banner day for kcw guys. I watched all day yesterday on the dirty cam. Today I'm gonna have the laptop on while it's sitting on my plan bench, so the guys working for me building movie scenery can enjoy it too. Hollywood will be watching from New Orleans. YeeHa!!

That peice looks great from that side.. but from the back you can see thats about 3 of those all welded together to make one good one!

The guy that was working on this car did alot of crappy hard work.. and then never got to the good gratifying part!

Glad your liking Dave.. Most customers do.. It's nice to feel like no matter where you are, you can be "apart" of the build!

John what are you guys using (primer wise) in between the panels before you weld them together?
I know about using weld thru but wasen't sure if you found something different to use for the rust?
