It seems my guess was correct. I pulled my idle jets this past Friday night and one was completely clogged with a piece of plastic. I had to push it out with a wire gauge to get it clear. Reinstalled and pulled the header wrap sealed the slip joints with some copper permatex. I let it sit 24 hours rewrapped the header fired her up and we put about 250 miles on her Sunday. O:)

I guess this weekend after I get home from my fishing tournament I will change the gear oil since it will be near 300 miles on the new transaxle! \:D/

Bit more time on the TRI-Vator. Dug a junk swing trans out of the pile and bolted it in to check if I got everything square (and make it a full roller) so now I can test fit the fiberglass inner panels and see where my controls should go.For shure will need to re-index the torsions.

911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.

Actually I do have a couple of options there. I have a titled pan section with the vin numbers but all of the tunnel is cut away from the torsion on the space frame. Need to figure out where the section could be welded to the new frame and visible for inspection and would satisfy the DMV. Another is to find a wrecked car with an engine and body tags that match the title and go with those.

Another step on the TRI-VATOR. Fit the fiberglass cockpit floor pan. Next is test fit pedal assembly and lay out brake lines and shifter location.

That would be fun. O:) the hard part of working with wood for me , is the waiting for glue to dry . Being patient. Working with metal. We fit and weld . O:) but I have never ever done body work . I was a pipe fitter, welder . O:)

Threw the rear rims on the front of my Baja fasty and set her down, just to get a feel for it..........

Image

The front rims have a different offset and a slightly smaller tire, but you get the idea. Pretty happy with the stance \:D/
