I've always wondered, why aren't all parallel twins designed like this? I'm not [yet] a motorcycle guy but it just makes so much more sense to me to have the intake up front and a short/compact/lightweight exhaust straight out the back.

Cannondale made a brief stab at the motorcycle market in the motocross realm. They designed their engine this way. Unfortunately the design didn't hit it off in the motocross world due to high price and lack of performance.

Cooling!

You want the hot side out in the airstream.

With Harleys the rear head runs hotter.

Cool trick with the flipped head, though..

Harley's are dumb :-#

Cooling makes sense I guess...

Anyone know anything about a Honda CX500? Water cooled V twin, side mounted like a Moto Guzzi. Shaft drive. There's a crusty one sitting near me, looks cheap :) I did a google image search and damn, they make a really fucking good looking cafe bike.

GTV. Those CX's are great little rever's. Do 80mph all day. Makes a sexy look'in café too. I have an engine in my shed that's torn down. Got stuck pistons. Been watering them with PB Blaster for about a year. About ready to tap on them, see if they move. Smile

^^^ If the engine has been water tight, it may not be stuck. Those engines don't have kick starts, So to check if the engine is locked up, pull the plugs, put it in a high gear, and then roll it forward.

I have been thinking a bagger for Corporate and I would be awesome..... =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

I would want something with air ride, something with a larger than stock front rim, more rake and stretch, and I think I would like a stationary front fairing.. But I want extended bags and luggae and a back rest for corporate, strero and shit.. bells and whistles... anyone got one they have been dying to sell.. :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k
if you keep going in circles.. Your never gonna get anywhere :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k
