My 64 panama beige

Postby LooseNuts » Sat Apr 28, 2012 4:02 pm

Drug home a 64 panama beige bug 2 weeks ago. Paid $200 for it no motor with title and a bunch of extra parts I will be selling. First order is to get it more down and clean up the oxidation. The patina on it is so perfect IMO.

Removed the respray paint on the rear fender. Removed the old primer from a previous work down. Color sanded the whole thing and gonna let it sit outside for a week or so to rust up the sanded metal. Then gonna clear coat the fender.

I sprayed vinegar on my wife ........to ensure we would have a baby girl........vinegar is a heavens nectar , determines birth sex, causes rust, and tastes great on fair fries.

rust formula: 1part vinegar, 1 part hydrogen peroxide, 1part water, and a dash of salt. Works wonders, or skip the water for a faster result, but your rust will be a bit more orange and crusty looking.
You wasted no time at all gettin that car cut up. Lookin good!!!

muratic acid will remove the paint. muratic acid's main job it the process is cleaning the metal...It doesn't actually do any of the rusting. So be careful with the acid....I'd use some heavy gloves and apply with a rag, then rinse with water immediatly.

To get some good rust to grow, use hydrogen peroxide and salt water in seperate spray bottles.

Good advice.

I will try the peroxide and salt treatment or piss on it as its outside next to the BBQ'er. Good reason to relieve myself after to much beer while cooking. Smile

Remove the trany today for the trans raise. Cleaned and clear coated the rear deck lid
